This amazing music played by you with great feeling makes my day and life better.. fantastic.. Love from Sweden. Hope to enjoy you live some day. ;)
Sincere thanks for giving this to us, Al and Judy. Hope you are keeping well. It's great to be reminded of 'Biscuit Roller', which was on their long-ago CD entitled 'Rag Band' and also featured in that great professional video when they were in Australia: czcams.com/video/ffXQ6qH3gwU/video.html . It was composed in 1937 by Richard M. Jones and Georgia White. Why is it such a distinctive tune, even though it is essentially just a basic 12-bar blues? The best I can offer towards an answer are these thoughts:
(a) it has a memorable 12-bar instrumental section (used as an Introduction at 00:04 - 00:32 and repeated to close the tune off at 04:24 - 04:26) which includes some surprising and luscious chords - could it be A7 in the fifth bar and G diminished in the eighth bar? This is not heard on the original Georgia White recording, so I presume Tuba Skinny devised it themselves.
(b) the song is in the key of G (rarely used by jazz bands) and seems to use the chord of C minor in bars 5 and 6 - thus giving it un unusual depth of melancholy. Incidentally, Georgia White recorded it in the 'easier' key of B flat.
(c) those downward-sweeping phrases in the melody are particularly memorable.
I hope someone will kindly put me right if any of my speculations are incorrect.
Sencillamente maravillosos..!!!
Je ne me souviens pas avoir vu cette version de Biscuit Roller !
Et très bien de quelques autres du même jour, que je revois souvent 🙂🙂

The trombone player looks like he's sitting there thinking what the hell am am I doing here.
For those who like a challenge, what does Shaye mean by the signal she gives to the guest players at 04:17 - 04:18 ?
Do you guys sing the song from the dixie land jazz song / Barbershop quartet Homer's "Baby On Board " song ? Thanks
On peut voir Ryan Baer au banjo ...
So rare, after that Ryan disappeared from music scene. Last time I've heard from him, he lived in Kitchener/Hamilton, Ont., Canada. 🇨🇦
Why doesn't Tuba Skinny record videos anymore?
I love you Erica
