The singing of the Philippine National Anthem "Lupang Hinirang" in the Philippine Independence Day Celebration in Edmonton, Alberta. Program director & choreographer: Jojo Lucila.
I love listening national anthem, Lupang Hinirang, Star Spangled Banner, O Canada in French which I taught to several thousand Filipino students of caregiver bound to Canad
Sad to say that different color of Flags are only for Luzon (the Malolos Republic) not Visayas and Mindanao. Remember, The Flag of Tausug and Sultanate of Maguindanao will rise during War against Spanish in Main land of Mindanao and Lupa Sug.
The other flags represents the revolutionary flag also used during Spanish-American and Filipino-American war. Those were not the official flags but played a heptic role for bringing pride and symbols that the Filipinos during that time are united to evict the corrupt government of Spanish and United States in our country
This is a presentation on the National Anthem. Pretty much like when a video is played for the anthem, this one has a performance. But everyone else is standing in salute of the flag.
Bam Carter, what a coincidence. My country's flag has only two stripes, one red and one blue but at the left side, there is a white triangle facing to the right. Inside the triangle, there are three stars, one at each point of the triangle and an eight rayed sun at the center. The three stars symbolize Luzon (where I'm living now and my mom's province is there too), Visayas (one of the regions is where my dad came from) and Mindanao while the eight rays of the sun symbolizes the eight provinces that are involved in the 1896 Philippine revolution against Spain: Manila (the capital), Bulacan, Cavite (the birth of the Philippine independence and its where I'm living in), Pampanga, Morong, Laguna, Batangas and Nueva Ecija. The red stripe symbolize patriotism and valor, the blue stripe symbolize truth and justice and the white triangle symbolize liberty, equality and fraternity.
A few observations: Under rebellion we surely were fighting look at those red flags early on, but when we had independence, our self determination showed clearly with our current flag. Still, paying homage to blood lost and willingness to fight the red is still there. Second, I giggle thinking what Americans and probably Canadians might think of those Ks in our early flags haha.
In Philippine history, the KKK stands for (in Tagalog) Kataas-taasang Kagalang-galangang Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan. Translated in English, it means Highest and Most Honorable Society of the Children of the Nation.
Pwede ba ipang perform or showcase ang Pambansang awit natin?
dao delacruz choreography is not necessary. This singing of the national anthem was the Opening of the Program so it had choreography to set the tone for the rest of the production concept.
@@idagbl still it is now proper according to Heraldic Code of the Philippines. National Anthem must not be used for chereographic way. There are proper way how to sing it .
TheUnknown Yes, but the event in Edmonton to commemorate Independence Day was held on June 13 since June 12 in 2015 was a Friday, which was a work day.
You made it worst for the Philippines. In an event like this, a sophisticted and glamorous Filipiniana should be worn. A national anthem should be fast having an accompaniment of the instruments since the foreigners cannot appreciate it only using the acapella.
This is wrong. It is a disgrace to the national anthem. May batas patungkol sa tamang pagkanta nito. Ano yung slow singing sa umpisa my goodness ginawang pop version may prelude pa kaloka.
It is a march song kaya dapat mabilis yung rhythm niya.
