No worries. Unfortunately, I don't have any videos to help you with this. I believe you would have to spend some time on bimmer post to see what steps are required. They're likely the same steps for all BMWs
I haven't tested ALL of Alex's tunes and the one tune that was tested was done on a weak high voltage battery, so there are no accurate figures. What I do have is that my car produced 340 wheel HP and 421 wheel ft-lbs of Torque stock. The Kassel Performance tune gave +18 wheel HP and +34 wheel ft-lbs of Torque over stock. Alex's "Pat's Tune" yielded +9 wheel HP and +3 wheel Torque but that was with a weak battery. On the stock tune, I had a best time of 4.3 sec 0-60, on Alex's "Pat's Tune" I had 3.95 sec 0-60 and on Kassel I had 4.00 sec 0-60. There are a ton of factors involved in dyno comparison and 0-60 comparisons that buying a product "because it will give X HP and Torque" is not always an accurate reflection of street performance. Alex has a Stage 1 and Stage 2 tune that I haven't even tested yet, that comes with the Powergate. However, I would expect slight gains over Alex's "Pat's Tune," because the i8 engine is already very well tuned, to be honest. BMW needs to consider that the car may be used in areas with poor fuel, severe cold/hot conditions, etc. This tune is based on US/UK/EU premium fuels and ambient temps. The exhaust is a little bit louder than normal and that can be associated with running different timing and exhaust pressures. But, it's not an obvious difference. Alex is developing a replacement exhaust so we can have a throatier exhaust, but that's probably a couple months out. If you buy this tune, you will feel a difference. HP numbers are for braggers, but the real difference is actually a felt change in performance. I think it gives the car a character that it didn't have before. The HP/Torque curves were very flat from factory. Too refined. This helps make it feel more like a real car again.

@@ajpardilla I feel the same way. I'm working with a guy in the UK right now who is testing a new exhaust and will be sending me a kit to try out. I'm also talking with some fabricators to have a 200 cell catalytic converter built, for testing.
can you put back the original BMW tune? and if you do, will bmw know that it has been changed, as my car is in warranty and i would not want to do anything to invalidate that..thanks
You can restore the original BMW tune, as this is one of the options when you go to flash a tune to the car. However, I would reach out to info@yorkshiredpfcentre.com directly regarding additional questions as I'm just a consumer / tester of the product.
Sadly BMW flagged my i8 (suspicion of tuning)even after I followed steps to revert it to stock. It also caused the tuner to no longer work on my car after BMW updated/flashed the ECU...
The key to avoid that is easy now that the i8 is out of production no more software updates will be pushed. So if you want to tune in warranty, then go for your service, MAKE SURE you insist on the latest final update for your car. Once done you can then tune that modern software version. They will never go through the process of flashing new software on it after this becuase your already running the newest version, therefore they won't discover the tune as they have no reason TO FLASH a software update as they have no update to flash :) So simple rule here with the i8 is OF you have the latest software version you arnt at risk of getting found out, pretty handy they stopped production!
I can no longer recommend Yorkshire DPF. I bought a unit back in 2021. It took over 6 months to receive my tune and tuner(2022). After many emails and complaints. I accepted a jenky off brand tuner(my genius) this is why I received it finally after 6 months. I would have waited months more had I waited for the power gate I paid for. I DID NOT receive the power gate unit I paid for. Then my i8 needed to go into BMW for repairs. At this time they reflashed/updated my DME/ECU. I had planned for this and followed instructions from My Genius/Yorkshire DPF to reset the tuner. Apparently it was not successful. When I received the car back from BMW the tuner was still locked to the previous software prior to BMW update. It would no longer work with my i8. I have wasted so much time trying to fix this. The only solution offered now is pay for a new tuner. PROMISES have not been kept period. I was promised a speed limit unlock also still nothing... Please be aware of these issues before you buy.

There are only two units marked as having issues, One because of his countires Internet filters it would seem and the other becuase the person tried to flash the car with no battery support, bricking the ecu needing him to relfash to stock from ista, if your One of these two units then please contact me, we only make the file I'm afraid not the unit, unfortunately if you try to flash the car without following our guidance to put on battery support or a battery tender then this will happen everytime, get in touch and we can help you through the next steps to take, but you must strictly follow the instructions given to the letter, if you don't we can't be held responsible for the outcome I'm afraid, however we are always willing to help
@@alexmyers4934 I followed pats instructions step by step with a full battery charge , and I showed all the errors and ask for Yorkshire help. I don't think there is internet filters that will change the file but I ask your help for a way to reset the device as the device can only be used one time for one car "which I wasn't aware of it unfortunately" but you never replied my or tell me is it possible or not.
@@zeroday379 hi zero, yes this is the device in dubai isn't it, I emailed a few months ago and said that alientech have replied stating that we can exchange this unit for you under warranty, alientech "THINK" the problem is relating to the file transmission...SO....if we replace the unit this way we can eliminate the unit as the problem, then I can post the file to you on a USB stick to eliminate the file transmission issue aswell, this way we eliminate both possibilities, If you drop me an email we can get one shipped out to you before we close down for Christmas and get this sorted for you

Nice video. I want to pull the trigger but I'm still Warranty. I'm assuming the dealership would flag me right?
You'd have to email Alex and find out.
