Looks like tree rot to me tbh -- which is caused by fungi (but often introduced by boring insects [or woodpeckers -- anything damaging the bark really]).
That NASA one: Starship is in the crewed testing phase, things may happen. The possibility that the astronauts would be stuck on the ISS was accounted for. The planned launch was set so that the ship could be in docking position with the ISS, hence the reason it was so easy to get to it. Moreover, the launch was in a balistic trajectory, so had all the thrusters failed, the ship would have simply come back on its own. Since a set of thrusters was operational, they stablised the orbit, made a series of checks, realised that there was no backup, so docking with the ISS was the backup safety. Its also why clothes and supplies were in a position to be launched so quickly. You dont just throw a suitcase on a rocket at the last minute after all. So while it does suck a bit, it was all planned for as a possibility.

Don't accept outrageous pricing at the dentist. Fly down to Mexico, see a dentist when you're there, spend a couple of weeks having fun and save ten thousand dollars.
Yeah, and be sure and ask how much mercury and other junk they’re using as a filling!! My friend went to Mexico and had dental work done, and ended up needing her teeth pulled because of the high mercury levels in her gums.
