    Awesome haul! I had a great laugh at 7:46 when you said, "WHO needs to know that much information?" 😄 Looking forward to swatches, especially that gorgeous rose ink!

    Irojiten is the line. I lusted after these a few years ago, they are so deliciously packed! They are very good quality. Different maybe from the usual favourites, but they add to the high end possibilities. In the end I did not get them, mainly because my circumstances changed, not at all because of the product. So your purchase gave me a bit of lust nostalgia! I have been very tempted by the gansai colours too, but I would want all three sets. I have a small set already, plus some darks and some metallics. They are all among my favourite art materials. I especially love them because you can use them with Japanese style thin papers which take them fabulously.

      Lindy Ashford I wonder if they would work on the rice paper?! Or Tomoe River is more what you had in mind? The Irojiten are beautifully packaged and the concept is very welcoming. But I do find that they are harder and slightly less pigmented compared to some of my other coloured pencils. They are lovely nonetheless. :)

      Alyona's Watercolour Creations, yes they do work on rice paper, and you can do what Chinese/Japanese artists do and paint from both sides of the paper if you let your initial layers dry first. Takes a little experimentation. I heard also that Irojiten are a harder sharper type of crayon but blend nicely. I hope you enjoy all your purchases! Have fun.

    The watercolour set is Keratake Gamsai Tambi who are doing special sets for different times since past. I have the 36 normal set that comes in a green thick cardboard box with gold Japanese writing on the cover. Don't tip the pans upside down without the lid on as I found out, much to my dismay, that they are loose in the box and 1/2 of my brand new watercolours were all over my lap. I do NOT regret my purchase. I am also going to look at Choosing Keepings website. On another topic the Kum pencil sharpener (also Japanese) is one of the best on the market in my humble opinion, tho when I saw your brass bullet one I fell In LOVE and must have one. Great haul!!!

    one of the nicest features of the blackwing pencils is the eraser. not only is it good quality, but its also removable and replaceable. just pull up on the little metal tabs on the sides and it comes right out. you can purchase replacement sets online.

    Thank you for sharing that shop with me. I didn’t know about them and I will check them out. I am in the UK. I picked up a couple of blackwing pencils the other day at the art shop in Heaton Cooper Art Studio in Grasmere, Lake District. They don’t have huge amount of stock but they have some different journals and books and also handmade papers which I like. I actually didn’t realise those pencils were expensive or good, I just liked the shape of the end and eraser. I love that clear pencil sharpener!

      Sally Cain Also I only just now realised that eraser you can take out by pulling on the metal lip on each side! :) I haven’t been to an art or craft shop since forever. Only done my first shoe shopping couple of weeks ago. Still trying to avoid going to shops other than groceries but it’s probably good time to go soon! :)

    The rose colored ink 😩 Oh the temptation! I would love to see what that looks like on paper. The Irojiten pencils are lovely, I bought them because they they were the only decent selection of pastels I sawbeside the Holbeins. I would love to see a comparison, although they seem so different. That set has the very pale colors, while the pale tones from one of the other sets might be a better comparison. Also considering your love for the creamy highly pigmented pencils like Luminance, I found the Irojiten to be dry, hard pencils, and not super pigmented either. I still really enjoy using the pencils on watercolor paper in particular, and the packaging is just so adorable. I

      Msboochie2 I had a little try with a pencil or two and yes I agree they do feel a lot drier and less pigmented. But the colours do look lovely! I might do a comparison video at some point. :)

      Irit Landgraf it is a great shop, they work with some small brand owners that create unique art supplies, true craftsmanship, with a mix of a few items that you can find elsewhere too. But I feel like it’s good to safe up a little before checking their online shop! 😅

    You can replace the erasers on the Blackwings, you can also pull them out to make them longer when they wear down. The Blackwing 602’s are the best imho, soft and no need for much pressure, so helps me with arthritis.

    • @AlyonasWatercolourCreations
      @AlyonasWatercolourCreations  Před 4 lety +1

      Kyomii yes I just realised that about the eraser after editing the video. 😝 The 602 is hard to get here, and it does look nice and soft and dark!

      Alyona's Watercolour Creations Just in case you are interested, there are singles in the blackwing black 602 on ebay, or you can get the set of 3 (black, pearl, matte) for about a tenner on ebay too.

    According to the store site they are Gansai watercolours... but I wonder what that means? Is Gansai a brand or a type of watercolour? Either way, that set is gorgeous.... as for the ink.. I'm in love! thanks for sharing your haul Alyona :)

    • @AlyonasWatercolourCreations
      @AlyonasWatercolourCreations  Před 4 lety +1

      Jeanette Gillings oh yes Gansai, they look very much like them. Gansai are traditional Japanese watercolour which is different to the western watercolour we are used to. I have a 36 colour set that I bought few years ago, they are lovely. Packed with pigment but have a different texture to them. :)

      After some time researching what Japanese paints these are I came to the conclusion they are Kissho Gansai. Gansai is a type of paint, there are already many videos on CZcams talking about it. I believe Choosing Keeping order and repackage them for resale. In Japan, Kissho paints can be sold individually and are considered higher quality than Kuretake. I hope this helps.

    • @AlyonasWatercolourCreations
      @AlyonasWatercolourCreations  Před 4 lety

      Demi N I have the Kuretake 36 set, and did think they look very similar in terms of the paint and huge pans. I wasn’t aware there is Kissho paints also. Will try to find out from Choosing Keeping. TFS! :)

    such an interesting haul and I am thinking I need that rose drawing ink. What color is your gorgeous nail polish? That is the only orange polish that I have seen that appeals to me. It is nice and summery and not as deeply intense as many oranges can be, but could also work for fall.

    • @AlyonasWatercolourCreations

      Katelyn thanks! You are right. German used to be my second. Then English became third. And now English is my first and German third. 🤪 There is one more in this equation, although I don’t think it can be picked up in the accent much as I worked hard to avoid “that” accent, not the prettiest in my opinion... 😅

      They do, and put a bird sticker on every individually wrapped item, I just didn’t film that part, to avoid getting the video even longer. :) Oh I just looked at video, and you are right not everything came wrapped in fancy paper. 🤪
