This is an absolute My favorite Putumayo album. Each song is magical, melancholic, one of the most singing islands in the world. I couldn't wait for it to be published. Putumayo should be granted UNESCO patronage for the promotion of such cultural assets. ❤🌎
While its difficult for us to pick favorites (it's like asking which is your favorite child), Cape Verdean music really does embody the Putumayo aesthetic of melodic, culturally rich music that touches your soul.
Yeah, Putumayo's creations allow us to take part of Cuban culture and respectufully adapted to other languages too. Their work should be granted and recognized.

Cape Verde came out in 1999. Mayra’s first album was in 2006. We love her.
Mayra was 14 years old when this came out, she hadn’t even met Orlando Pantera yet. Putamayo has a lot of resources, but a way to time travel isn’t one of them.
