"Tajdarr e Haram " song title refers to MECCA the holiest and the Biggest Mosque of Muslims to worship ALLAH ( Muslims circle around it and that Event is recognized by Guinness for the Biggest Religious Gathering ) , And "Madina" is the mosque of PROPHET MUHAMMED ( PBUH ) , Its a Sufi song expressing his love for prophet's mosque which All Muslims love so much

Brothers it's a Quawwali..that's devotional song..it cannot be like the regular commercial music but it's deep and meaningful..it's a culture thing..you people are not familiar with the subcontinent Islamic Sufism..so not a problem :)

I disagree. A westerner can appreciate Qawwali, as proven by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. The reason they probably found this one boring is because its nothing close to a real Qawwali performance... it was too "commercial" and conventional, a real qwwali is about improvising and vocals.

    • @beingjayadev5171
      @beingjayadev5171 Před 7 lety +10

The subcontinent has a long history of sufism and that is where music such as this qawwali springs from. The singer is conversing with his maker, therefore he has to be respectful in his tone and gestures. The lyrics are absolutely beautiful and that's the real magic behind this production. Music in this part of the world has complex genres, it not only varies from region to region but also from one religion to the next. It will take you guys some time to follow but Pakistanis really appreciate you guys exploring coke studio! So big thank you to you for your videos

It was a lyrics based song. It had a lot of meaning for us so we weren't asking for high notes or music. And you were right about him. His voice is much louder than the requirements of this qawwali.
Listen to his first song "Aadat". Making this song costed him $400 but it was a commercial success. He was a student at that time and made that song from his pocket money. He didn't knew singing at that time but that song was still a hit. I think you should listen to that.

The reason why most of the Pakistani's love Tajdar-e-Haram is probably because of the fact that it directly hits the religious sentiments. The lyrics, and since it's a Qawali people feel deeply for this, if you understand what he's saying then you don't even need the instruments and it still seems brilliant. Anyways i did'nt know these videos existed :D Subscribing right now.

Hey. I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before but I wanted you to know that there is a reason this version of the qawali got so much fame. This is a very old qawali and Atif's intention was to recreate it in a more modern way for the new generation of Pakistanis. Great job on all your reaction videos! Cheers!

  • @2plus2_is_4thatsquickmaths6

You are just reacting to the music, not to the song, a song is composed of three things music, singer and lyrics. you have thrown the lyrics part out of the picture and in the end you are saying that it was not good, the reason this is the best Coke Studio has ever produced is because of the lyrics and Indo-Pak's people love for Sufism. This song is of a completely different genre, you don't play it in parties and dance to it, this song was made by spiritual people for the spiritual people ! so please try to understand the genre and culture to which the music belongs before reacting to it.

okay, guys, you have no idea how happy I am that u reacted to this but u guys should know, that this is a special genre of music like you have jazz and stuff this is called "Qawwali" its basically Islamic Sufism where one has a few written lines and they sing it for hours in praise for almighty there is no oomph in such music, however, the original version of it does have some generally these are like fodder to the soul, they are beautiful and the words he's using belong from the Urdu and Persian language, honestly the singer Atif can sing soo a lot and qawwalis generally go for hours as well so this was kind of the smallest.
there are very few people who like this kind of music and it's more about the lyrics than the music honestly the translations don't even do a bit of justice to the original poetry of the song.
and lastly ur right this song does go beyond chorus and bridges but lastly
thank you very much for reacting :)

This song actually is 30 mins lon and originally sung atleast 40 years ago. This is sufi music called qawwalli style. The main part is its poetry....This genre is usually slow and pick a fast pace at least after 15-20 mins.....

No need to be patronising, they don't know Qawali music, they haven't grown up appreciating it or anything. They're giving their honest reaction, you can't shove a hot iron down their throat just because it's not to their absolute liking. It's actually very unrealistic to expect them to be amazing fans of this. I feel like any criticism they gave would leave you butt hurt anyway... bye.

Okay so while you said he has so much more power and you are waiting for it. The thing is this is qawalli and this version was composed like that. SOFT. ELEGANT. SMOOTH. As it has to be differ from the original qawalli. This is what cokestudio does. Moreover, I really love and appreciate you guys giving out sometime and listening to our greatest PAKISTANI artistic music. If you want to listen to his magical rocking voice search over youtube and you will get to listen more of him. :)

Hey Robin & Jesper, hope you teo are doing good. Its really great to hear from you guys. I saw your reaction on Afreen Afreen and now Tajdar e Haram.
Tajdar e Haram is not a song basically, its a qawalli. Qawalli is when we praise or adress Allah or Prophet P.B.U.H. so thats may be the one reason Atif couldnt like banged it there. But yes I'm agree with you he surely has that power and he has showed it many times in different numbers of him.
Still, thank you so much for your time and honest reaction.
    Much love from Pakistan 🤗🤗

Hi Guys, Thanks for doing this series of videos. Just wanted to give you a thumbs up. The name of the WOODEN instrument you loved so much is RUBAB. Its a specialty of Northern Pakistani Provinces and Afghanistan. I know you two wanted the singer to go higher with his pitch but this specific qawali is a praise the Prophet Muhammad and all the words are uttered in love and respect. So in such case the poetry doesn't allow the singer to speak louder (as loud is not respectful in some cases) Loud is usually HAPPY, CRAZY or ANGRY but scarcely LOVE :p Keep up the good work, the new season is just around. :) Love from Pakistan
