That is Lyn, yes. She was pretty unknown before Persona 5; they sought out a singer who would fit the vibes they wanted, and now she's a rising star.
She also had a song in megalobox Rise up/Diamonds and it’s amazing
@@Dickinabox When I heard that song at the end of Megalobox 2 I nearly cried, capping off that beautiful show with that beautiful song was perfect.
Live Lyn is insane. Her performance of last surprise for the videogame awards is great as well.

Lyn has insane breath control. Later on in this same show, she literally ran around the entire arena and she was still singing flawlessly.
Pretty sure Lyn is just two giant lungs wearing a Japanese girl costume.

The notes she was carrying at the end of "Hoshi To Bokura To," after everything else she'd sang up until that point, still blow my mind.
That is indeed Lyn in the video. Like was mentioned by someone else, she was a fairly unknown jazz singer prior to this, but since her Persona 5 fame she's been featured in a few anime soundtracks (mostly Lupin the Third, being present even in concerts for that) and even other Sega properties, such as doing vocals for a song in an official Sonic arrange album.

Ah yes, Lyn. Whenever you hear a vocal track from Persona 5, you can be sure it's her singing. Her voice is just so, so good. This is the kind of song that makes you not want to leave the part of the game it plays in. I'd say out of all the dungeon/palace themes, "The Days When My Mother Was There" is probably my favorite, but this one is definitely a close second (could be tied with it depending on the day).
I actually was there in the audience for the super live 2017. It was amazing!

I played this game 3 times, about 500 hours, the music is an essential part of Persona 5 Royal, the game's story is amazing, but the soundtrack perfectly matches every moment in the game!
My favourite of P5’s palace themes. The track really encapsulates the funk and disco influences, that Shoji Meguro had when creating the soundtrack. Considering how much Jesse likes the saxophone, I’m looking forward to when he eventually checks out the reincarnation version of Specialist.
All I'm gonna say is that I knew that saxophone was gonna hit you hard lol
I was shocked the first time I saw lyn too. It's almost like she's just too small to support such a massive voice. And just like uncle Jesse, I fell in love instantly.
Only surprise was the shades not coming on, but bang on for the vibes.

I've heard this song but it's been a second.
It's starts off with the Persona 5 everyone is familiar with, great walking bass and the vocals are great but that's always the case with Lyn. Not much to say since it's the average Persona 5 song, that's not a bad thing. A fun little groove. I like it
The live version sounds studio quality, the performances are all very well done. I notice the organ in this version more than the original. I love the surprise sax solo, pure banger and the high note from Lyn was great. This was fun and I like this one too.
That's one of my faves from P5, glad you covered it! That recording was used for the Persona 5 Dancing rhythm game, which might be why it's so high quality.
As for the sax, live versions of The Almighty (P4) also regularly feature it, and it's always amazing.

The quality of the live recording is so good because it's from an official release - it was in the P3/5 Dancing spin-off
Lyn is amazing, and - yes - beautiful. The dancers are representative of many of the female characters in the game - the only male dancer is the protagonist that you play. Lyn herself is dressed as Mokoto Niijima, a core character (originally an antagonist, becomes a partner, her sister is a super-DA investigating the Phantom Thieves). The entire concert, in Yokohama, is about 3 hours and includes music from the singers from P3, 4 and 5. And sometimes they coordinate - I would have loved to have been there for the concert.
I personally love the Rhodes piano.
Shoji is incredible, and I think he has produced all of the Persona music (maybe not Shin Megami Tensei).
I don’t believe he did the ps1 versions of p1 or p2 as well

This live is absolutely amazing. They play songs from (almost) the entire franchise and the sound just as good, or even better than the original versions in the games. Also they bring the singers from Persona games from 3 to 5, and seeing them in stage together is fantastic. A must for every Persona fan, or even just a good music enjoyer.

Mannnnnn, this game's basslines. It so makes me want to get a bass and learn to play, even though the last instrument I laid hands on was a recorder in freaking primary school... I can't with the bass in this game.

What's really cool is that she's in full cosplay as Mokoto (took me a second to realize it).and another of the performers up there is dressed as Futaba. I didn't notice any other PS5 characters on stage though.

If you like the saxophone in Persona, I highly recommend checking out the Specialist and Like a Dream Come True, both from P4 Dancing, as well as the Kozuka remix of Tokyo Daylight. Super fun songs that I know you’ll enjoy, and I hope someone recommends it for you to listen to it here!

It’s the least dungeon sounding theme I think in the game. It’s also the only vocal theme too for one

The OST version is nice, but it didn't really do it for me. The live one, on the other hand, is phenomenal.
