    I love how Chuck said to think that you are still able to eat your favorite foods...they're just different! Wonderful help!

    Great interview Gabriel! And I agree with Chuck "What the Health" is one of the best documentaries to help convince people that this is the way to live! Good point that you brought up in this interview about "The extra skin" being just an excuse to continue with bad eating habits. A good question for some with that mindset is "wouldn't you rather live a long healthy life and have a little extra skin or would you rather be walking around morbidly obese with nice firm skin cushioned by all that fat?

    300 pounds, that's amazing! So well done! I love the idea of kitchen sink salad 🥗😁 Mine are like that as well - every time slightly different, depending on what I have in the fridge!

    For me ( I’m sure not necessarily true for everyone) but about 30 years ago I tried going meatless. I still ate dairy . It didn’t last. Last January I went totally plant based. I think cutting out all the dairy and meat took out all the addictive foods. Those foods , for me, are super addicting. I haven’t missed any of them. Not really missed them. Yes every once in a while one of those foods sounds good but not to that addictive stage where “I must have it”...🤷🏻‍♀️

    Hi Gabriel. I use your cook book on a regular basis and love the recipes. I really enjoy making the tuna salad recipe. You use avocado as the mayo and I was wondering what substitute would you recommend for the avocado as I am trying to keep my diet low fat. I am thinking maybe puréed cannellini beans but maybe you have a better suggestion? Thank you.

      That could work. I use tofu mayo that I make at home with the tetra packs of silken tofu. I get the base recipe from the starch solution book and play with it to suit my taste. You can get the recipe on the plant based dads CZcams channel, you may even find it online. Take care!

    going on a long-time water fast, the body goes into autophagy (self-eating) and the skin is absorbed as part of the body's cleansing system The only way loose skin will not be an issue. Reference Dr. Goldhamer at True North Health center where Chef AJ goes to take vacation time !!!

    You know I always thought that Chuck Carroll lost all of his weight by going vegan. However I read an article that states he had gastric bypass. Well that is not all that inspiring to lose weight with bariatric surgery. People that eat animal products can lose weight after gastric bypass. So now this guy is all of a sudden a Vegan expert when it comes to weight loss but he had gastric surgery. This guy has lost some credibility.

    • @rolliemaniquet6858
      @rolliemaniquet6858 Před 3 lety

      If you look more into gastric bypass surgery, you will find that many end up gaining back the weight within a couple years after surgery because they are still hooked on unhealthy food. Then they go for a second surgery. It’s awful. Maintaining weight loss is harder than losing weight. His WFPB diet has proven that even after gastric bypass surgery he has been able to maintain weight loss and avoid subsequent surgeries.

    • @SandyB_nz
      @SandyB_nz Před 2 lety

      Agree. With gastric bypass you volume of food is diminished so less energy or calories are consumed and fat loss naturally occurs. Add in vegan ism or calorie density eating and bingo, even less calories. So yes, you can't unsee the connection here. Not to diminish Chucks achievements but let's see the whole picture.
