I am 14 years old, and This is all I listen to! This music is so much better then today's. We need these times back when everyone was respectful and to where you can understand the music. So much better times.
Pity they aren't the great original versions
I felt the same when I was 14 years old.... people thought I was weird, but I don't care. I am 38 now, and still don't care.
Wow I am amazed ! good on you!
You know great music
Originals are best. And we had good music and we were good people but we fought hard against racial hatred.
1960 was the. I year I got married so 1960 music is still go strong like my marriage 61 years thanks you tub
Hello Kathleen, how are you doing? I hope you are fine, I’m Jonathan from Dartmouth MA it’s my pleasure to meet, seems like you are a real country girl?
If you are reading this, I wish you a wonderful day, full of little moments of joy :)
Let's enjoy these soothing sounds together
I am 70 next Jan 2022 it was the Best time to grow up in Australia no computers no lap tops we had push bikes we fixed on a weekend s so we could ride to school none of this getting dropped off and when we came home we had a job list we had to do before playing time the Music was the best Now day with all the computers they have they could make a dog have a number one hit song .I can not stand rap crap Buddy Holly and the King him self cam me an old fart if you want to but we grew up when we had real Rock n Roll nothing like it and it will live on for ever .
I was a Teenager in the 60's and entered the US Army 1964. The Music was the best and even in Vietnam it kept us GI's listening to Armed Forces Network radio!!!
Yes, and the way the guy said "Gooooood MORning, Viet Nam" in the movie was not the way it really was...
Thank you for your service and welcome home soldier. AND yes, music was music created by artists with talent.
Respect Monsieur
I'm 68 but this 70s compilation has made me feel like a 20 year old again! I can't help but bop around to the beat! So many of these songs take me back to particular places and the people I was with at that time. Better than any blood pressure pills or statins!

Born in 1952 grew up with music from 40's,50's,60's and the 70's. Rock n Roll, British invasion, Hippies, Psychedelic, Disco, Rock.
Those were the days. I'm 70 now and music took a turn long ago still some good ones here and there but not on the magnitude of yesteryear's.
.
1952 too
Amen! Born in '52 also.
Exactly the same for me! 70 now!! Heard it all!! Soul&tamla man forever!
1957
Disco and Pop killed good old rock, it started in the late 70s and was declared dead by the end of the 80s.
The only good music coming out was from the older artists who were still hanging on.
AWESOME MUSIC 🎶🎶 FROM A MUCH BETTER WORLD AND HAPPIER TIMES WHEN GOD AND FAMILY AND LOVE WERE PRIORITY 🙏❤️🤗 KEEP THIS PRICELESS MUSIC COMING 🎶🎶🤗❤️ GOD BLESS YOU FOR SHARING THIS 🤗 WHAT A BLESSING 🙏🤗❤️
Hello Teresa, how are you doing? I hope you are fine, I’m Jonathan from Dartmouth MA it’s my pleasure to meet, seems like you are a real country girl?
I could not have said it better myself! If I had a hat, I'd tip it to you.

Hello Lori, how are you doing? I hope you are fine, I’m Jonathan from Dartmouth MA it’s my pleasure to meet, seems like you are a real country girl?
Love this music .I am a 60’s Rock Girl born in the 50’s . The grooviest music ever
She 100% right, the radios
Of those days were a continuous music unit,
No cost, better then today's phones.
Hello how are you doing today?
Okay
Where are you from
What happened to the good old days when we had lots of great songs on the radio and the junk that they play today.
That is so true. But, at least I had a hell of a lot more fun in my 70’s, then the 20’s are having now!
We, who were teens in the 60’s, are so fortunate. Optimism, anticipation, energy, justice, peace, and awakening surged in the music and in daily life. Sure, there were problems….serious problems (á la “Eve of Destruction”) but there was inherent confidence in the promise of constantly improving lives. An ethereal yet priceless gift would be memories of a summer filled with surf, transistor radios music, bikinis, beads, peace signs, bell bottoms, mini skirts, op-art, the Sunset Strip, real muscle cars, lime rickies, drive-in movies and drive-in burgers joints, and so, so much more.
Love the music!
Rythem of the falling rain is special to me as it was my cousin's band just before he left for Vietnam, he was a helicopter pilot in Nam, also flew the helicopter for John Wayne in the Green Beret movie, helped in many search and rescue's as well
DAVE WILSON WAS A FRIEND OF MINE
Just been looking at my old photos, and then started listening to this , I know I will never have these time’s again, but I had them thank god ,
I am 74, I got the greatest hits from the 60s, before Vietnam AND during Vietnam 68-69 USMC Semper Fi!!
He was so underrated....
Great selection of music, REAL MUSIC! RAP is not music, it's NOISE. No talent for rap, anyone can talk to music playing, to sing with a good voice takes talent! Haven't heard many of these songs in a long time. Thanks for posting the video!
RAP: REAL ATTITUDE PROBLEM MUSIC.
i started dancing alone in my room, this playlist is awesome
I am 48 with 8 children and one grandson.I always told myself I was going to stay single and grow old alone. I used to listen to these oldies with my beloved late wife all the time . I try to avoid listening to oldies but I just can’t help myself
Often the oldies bring back memories both happy and sad. You must miss your wife so much. I can't begin to know the pain that you must be feeling in your heart. Hopefully the songs will bring happiness of the cherished times you shared with your wife. Take care my friend.....God Bless.
Most of these are covers, not recordings by the original artists. I grew up listening to them on am radio and had most on 45s. I may be old, but I still have an ear for music.
Re-recorded rubbish. Sadly there are people out there who think that these are the original versions
I agree with you. Not the original recordings. 45's were not in stereo back then. Not quite as good as the original recordings. Some not even close to the original.
I was born in 1955 so I grew up through the best three decades of music ever,60s,70s and 80s,I have a laptop with around 30,000 tunes from those times
I was born 2 years before you. In the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I wish I could turn time back. Best time of my life
Born 1955 to with a Mum and Dad who sang the songs from their youth, and three older brothers with a radio. Those were the days my friend!
Yup, me too!
@@GRMLS5 I loved radio Luxembourg 208 metres on the medium wave, best station on air once,Bob Stewart,Stuart Henry, and Ben e brown,if you're not familiar with it I think you can find some of it on u tube,a whole generation grew up listening to it
Can you drop anything past 1976 out of that?
Each and every one of these golden platters should be remastered and kept for eternity to show future generations what music really is.
You would have to be joking. Non-original version rubbish is all this is.
Unfortunately the new generation don’t have the proper nature of principles or morals to comprehend the values we had during our era of what we would consider ‘decent’ music.
@@pacarter7169 I don't know if you are referring to me as"new generation." If you are-thank you(I am 72). If you are referring to Music Hits, I don't know if they are young or old. Tthey would not know original classic rock if it bit them on the arse.
@@pacarter7169 Too right! Many of them were never taught morals nor manners by the seat of their pants.
Went to school w/ an Eikenberry in StPaul - any chance u might know him?
I graduated from High school in 1966 these song bring back many memories............. thanks
I graduated in 1967…….no songs like this anymore!
Reminds me of my childhood, these songs were my father's favorite and we had to listen to it every weekend we learnt to love oldies music because of him ..it reminds me the sweetest smile in his face and how happy my childhood was..
Pity they aren't the great original versions
Remember the days when you had to have a great singing voice to have a hit? And kids in the Detroit ghetto made Motown famous with some of the greatest music ever made.
Those were the days of REAL artists, not this rap crap and sh-- slop they try to pass of as "music" today.
Perhaps my memory is too good. There was plenty of crap music and crap artists around then but they but they haven't survived the test of time.
Well said 🎶🎶 SO TRUE 🎶🎶❤️
Back then there were a lot of good sounds, but on shows like Top of the pops, and Ready Steady Go, the artists used to usually mime to their record. Also the microphone was a relatively new technology, as was the electric guitar, arguably, electronic, (fake) music. The older generation of the day used to complain that “ singers of today can’t sing with their own voice”, as singers of the past could, when they were growing up, pre WW2.
Ahhh, those were the days . There's a special place in heaven -for- Barry Gordy Jr.
loved the 60s and 70s all that free loven
cruzen with my friend louie sambuco from east haven we had great time together
Eddie Cochran was NOT a one hit wonder !!! He was, and still is - a true rock n roll LEGEND !
These people have no knowledge or appreciation of the great music from the 50's and 60's
The 60's was my time. I listen to these oldies and wish I back there.
You can..get together with other like minded ..get a 57 Chevy crank up those tunes in someones garage club.. there's still bands playing this great stuff..!
Big bands, the wall of sound, Elvis, the British Invasion, those were great times. Now we have have crapp and trash. Glad I lived when I did.
Amen, well said.
That's what your parents said in the 1960's. LOL
The 60's were a great fun time to grow up, I had so much fun back then until 67 and Vietnam put a halt to the wildness.
Narrow minded
@@carljones7380 Oh your not that bad...
1955 - 1965 best decade
Being born in the mid 50,I have grown to love 50 and 60 and 70 music,I think best music ever.
Etched in our minds forever, when Music was about a story of Love and Romance.....
The 50's and 60's music was the best. It went downhill from there. Double dutch chants became rap.
New Wave from 78-88 brought back Rockabilly and other sounds of the previous eras.
@@islandon22 Think you fine Rockabilly and the Mod scene in the UK lasted thro from the 60's till 88 and beyond , I still know a few Mods from the 60's they never changed their look.
@@islandon22 I liked ALOT of seventies music yet.... some good stuff and I was having a damn good time in those years yet!!!! (Still young 😂!!).
There is no best but what you think is and new music has lots of merit too.
I don't think it went downhill till the 80s... there was some really great stuff in the 70s, probably the best being Eagles' first four studio albums, the best of which was Desperado.
51 and a little kid during that time but said I was precocious and amazing memory So many beautiful memories and wouldn’t want to be kid teen in this age for any reward any reason Great diversity of ppl aunties uncles had hippie biker etc variety friends different lifestyles so interesting and all mostly kind cared for us communally So like extended fam auntie uncles grandparents
Hello Melissa, how are you doing? I hope you are fine, I’m Jonathan from Dartmouth MA it’s my pleasure to meet, seems like you are a real country girl?
I was only 3years old in 1960, but I have ALWAYS LOVED the old music, to borrow the line from the movie Eddie & The Crusers when Eddie said that he didn't want his music to get soiled and thrown out like trash... but he wanted his music to be like sheets that you fall into and wrap yourself in. That is how I feel when I hear the OLD STUFF, like I'm wrapped in warm sheets.
As a child in the 80’s, I grew up listening to music of the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s... it was my father’s love of music that I took most from him.. he just passed away on sept 18. I might not be able to talk to him anymore but his music speaks to my soul...
My condolences , when I was like 4 I heard my Dad making a big deal about the Beatles are coming ,I didn't say anything but had no idea what he was talking about. Then was all sat in front of a cubic black and white tv. It was the Ed Sullivan show. Must have been 1960.
He would buy these 45rpm records peddlers be selling. My dad has also passed and it's funny but those little things he did is what I have fond memories of. God bless
I am so sorry for your loss. There was amazing music of the 60's and 70's.
My condolences. You'll feel him around when you listen to music. The memories will never die.
My condolences to you! I was a child growing up in the 60s from age 4 -14 and my mom loved the Beatles and all rocknroll bands, of that era, so much, that she took me to rock concerts in the mid 60s….I was able to see a lot of those bands performing at a young age…….and it rubbed off onto me too as an adult!
Awesome story
Best decade yet for quality music !!
Think how great the original versions would sound
Never thought we would get old, but here we are ageing and remembering the best times of our lives!!!
When you're young you think you stay that way forever, not so, and not sure how these young people will
survive their old age, but i am sure they will, like every other generation before!!!
Its so bewildering, where has all the time gone. All the good and bad decisions.....
@@bigred7347 Whenever I hear someone ask "Where does the time go?", I like to say "Where does it come from?"
I’ll drink to that….
great thought..find it happy that the young ones here something and they ask me..dad..?..and i smile
I'm much more than 10 years older now than I was in 2012. I swear I was only about 40 then....
I love all these songs. At 66 still remember all of them. Thank you so so much. God bless us all.
Some are '70s?
At 78 still love them !!!
I’m 70 and still remember every single one of them David!
Don’t be overly sad. 70’s was when an angel agreed to marry me. We built a tiny house and had first 2 of 4 children. She has passed now but not from my heart. The 70’s gave us special memories no one can take away. We missed the war and the holocaust and some of us Vietnam so don’t have the horrors others do. 70’s were good to us, treasures deep inside us. Every time we listen to this music others around us may never know our secrets.
Oldies but the Goodies.
True love never dies. Our memories live on and warm our hearts but the music brings us into the time...the moment...where time stood still...just being together with the one you love was everything. This is the forever I hold on to.
Much love💕💓💕
Please listen to David Draiman from Disturbed sing Sounds of Silence.
I am 70 years and this song has found its requiem sans rival.
We are now re-living the 70's with this lasting fall soon China will destroy us....
Mine was the 60's. It's music brings joy and tears since she fell asleep.
She had a blessed life too.. She married you.. 🥰💕
@@natashaflanders4375 What a heartwarming thought. Thank you
Them were the days -if only we could turn the clock back!

Choose Jesus! Time is running out and God is coming back for his Church. Repent. We are all sinners! Ask Jesus to forgive you and save you, confessing that he is lord. There is a great time of peace coming back to this world that will last a thousand years ... I believe that all the things I loved from the '50 and '60s and '70s will be there! God bless.
@@Tonetwisters there aint never going to any peace in this world, war and troubles etc is what makes it work.

Born in the sixties and still love this music 💖❤️❤️🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Hola
Pity they aren't the great original versions
Being in my 20s in the 70s was a lot better than being in 70s in the 20s
I'm 61 ,you got that right.
amen to that
I'm now in my 40s and I envy your 20s
Love your comparison! So true.
Well said.
Anyone who would call del shannon and Eddie Cochrane one hit wonders needs to study their music knowledge these guys were true rock stars
Totally agree
I know, it cracks me up as well as rerecordings on this upload. Singing Nun in English???.. After that I turned it off ...for good.
One of these sites had Shirley Bassey as a one hit wonder.
@@waratah08 As far as Top 40 radio....she was. On an older peoples station like MOR/jazz possibly no.

I graduated in 1966 It was the best time to be alive the freedom we had the music the people the cars I wish I could return to those days.
I am from Sydney Australia. I see the number of comments about Del Shannon and rightly so. He was far from a one hit wonder, say a ten hit wonder might be closer to the mark. I was lucky to see him live at Castle Hill RSL Club about six weeks before his terrible death. He was great on stage that night although i felt he looked a bit worn out. Couldn't believe it when a few weeks later he was no longer with us. I think he must have suffered from bipolar disorder to do what he did. So much talent.
I believe Del's last recorded performance was in Sydney.
I was in Perth WA in 1975 and walked down an alley way from a car park next to a pub and Del was performing. The side door was open and you could see and hear him.
Interesting comment and at the time of his passing I read he was really depressed and upset due to the Four Seasons being inducted to the Rock and Roll hall of Fame. He wasn’t inducted and felt he should have been instead of the Four Seasons. I happen to have a concert program where both performed in 1963 in the UK and autographed by both.
You should be more upset they use a re-recording.
some of GREATEST Music of all time, came out of the 1960's. and I grew-up in the 80's.
I had lots of fun in the'60s
Was in highschool from 70 to 74.. went to Woodstock in 69. Met jimmy and Janice on the side of the stage.. wanted to meet sly but didn't.. not sorry for anything in my life.. my 63 Impala SS.. good times!!
Fond memories of my baby-sitters, Roberta and Francis Gonzalez (women in their late 70s by now) riding me around the neighborhood at 5-6 years old on the backs of their Royce-Union Bicycles-hanging onto their warm, young, and shapely buns while hearing these awesome '60s songs over their transistor radios strapped to their handlebars. I was so lucky to be in a situation that allowed my hands to be all over these beautiful Latina's posteriors and never once got slapped.
Sounds like you had an excellent childhood. Im jealous!
Back when musicians could actually play it instruments, write meaningful lyrics and actually sing.
Ever heard of the Wrecking Crew? They played the instruments on many hit records like the Beach Boys Byrd's and many others.
i still say that the 60's was the best decade of music ever
Totally agree!🌹
Yes I agree with you ,
So true
60s and 70s!!!!!
Tout simplement super, bravo j adore . Très bon rythme ☀️❤️merci
Does anyone else remember “The mighty KOMA in Oklahoma” on your AM radio?
Nope. I was tuned to WRKO in Boston!
In 1967 halfway between Hawaii and Vietnam, on flight deck of USS Princeton. the sound waves could be heard at night. Amazing???
'60s music that's when I grew up, Elvis Presley was my all-time favorite his gospel music made me cry most of the time.
"crying in the chapel"
I'm 37. I'm more of a rock n roll guy, but I love playlists like this. LOVE.
You like everything.
Rock and roll is a genre of popular music that evolved in the United States during the late 1940s and early 1950s. It originated from black American music such as gospel, jump blues, jazz, boogie-woogie, rhythm, and blues, as well as country music.
Rock 'n' roll is a popular music genre that combines elements of rhythm and blues (R&B), jazz, and country music with the addition of electric instruments. Originally associated with youth revolt and transgression, the genre is known for energetic performances, catchy melodies, and often insightful lyrics.
I had fun times in 1960s and still have the same great people who hang with me today.
Sleeping on the floorboard of my parent's 57 Ford, waking to some songs on this list. I remember that even at 4, 5 or so, I admired these songs, the activity of a college town and my parent's banter in the front seat. If these rides were planned with my sleeping in mind, then it was well thought out.
Did you ever think the past would be with us today. AMAZING! I never thought when I was a kid this would be with us forever. The future is awesome!
This really brings us back home. You would of had to be there it was a wonderful time and place to live.
I wa there ...loved the music then and still love it....lets keep enjoying it for many years
Driving around and listening to AM radio
Golden age of music was the 60s and 70s.
+++++++++++++++I SAY AGAIN+++++++++++++++++IT WAS THE 70"s++++++++++++++
Nothing can take the place of these beautiful songs, very true old but gold. Thank u for these beautiful songs, once a quiet world🙏🙏
I like the 60's I graduated from high school in 1960. But the 70's in my opinion were the pinnacle of modern musical artistry. Almost all canned music in stores is 70's which is a tribute to that era.
Del Shannon had a few hits. Eddie Cochran had tons of chart toppers. Hardly one hit wonders
Graduated in 1957 and then in the Air Force on an 8 year enlistment and the all we had was a juke box in the Airman's Club and the radio and it was always on if anyone was in the barracks and when we were in the planes you could always find music on the radio, today its only talk radio. I'm 82 and really enjoy the music from my youth
THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!!!

Sincere condolences for loss of your beloved family members. Born in '63, many of my cousins, aunts & uncles were all within shouting distance. When five, I spent a lot of time at J's while cuz's were in school & my folks worked. I am forever indebted to Darlene for letting me play her 45's while primping at her vanity, daydreaming of being teenage like her. No one had to babysit me, I was entranced just watching their newfangled washing machine agitate with the lid up (no safety stop yet). Following that exciting preschool adventure (LoL) I'd spin records for hours daily, entranced by sounds of Dionne Warwick, Tom Jones, John Fred & his Playboy Band, Allan Sherman, Otis Redding, Herb Alpert, B.J. Thomas, Gary Puckett & the Union Gap, The Supremes, The O'Kaysions, Aretha Franklin & so many more! I discovered LP's once parents joined mail-order record club, developing a lifelong love of multiple genres, ultimately becoming a musician.

No you didn't. These are crap re-recordings.
Was a ten year old child in 1960 by 1970 I was a. GI in Vietnam. Although it was courtesy of the draft and I wondered where went my childhood! Some of this music I loved but some was forgettable. I did notice you weren't playing the studio version that were released to radio airplay!
There is a lot of people on here that was borne in 1950. Teenagers in the 60’s was awesome. I was fortunate enough to not to get drafted. Lotto number was high. 71 and still remember most of the lyrics to the songs here.
In, right after high school. The day I made E-5, I found out, I would have never been drafted....I had a high lottery number!!!! ETSed 50 days before my 21 birthday. My life, was some thing, out of an O'Henry Story.
@@fredramm7527 there was no lottery until I returned!
Thank you for your service and sacrifices, sincerely
What AMAZING Memories hearing this awesome music!!!!💓
Like most on here, I wish we could go back to what we believed was a more innocent time!💕
THESE SONGS ARE MUCH BETTER THAN TODAY'S SONGS!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🎼🎵🎶🎤🥁🎸🎸🎹🎹🙂😉👍👏😊
Whiter shade of Pale...just no comparison....what a voice he has...heres to you Mitch.
One of my favorite 60s tune was The wanderer, man that rocked when I was a youngster !!!
Yes it's sad Dion was great the Wander was the best i think but most of his were good
Add Teenager in Love, Runaround Sue and more by Dion and the Belmont's,.!
Cool! A one-hit wonder compilation that begins with a hit by a guy who had several more hits. Little Town Flirt. Hats Off to Larry.
He had one hit that's it. It defined him as a one-hit-wonders. Runaway was a massive hit and it defined him. The other 'cute' songs were not relevant to Del's status, read more: you will understand.
@@marlenestockton2269 Ah, canned responses that are 100% wrong. Lot of energy spent on showing ignorance. You've been confronted with the facts, you don't know what you're talking about.
Wish I could go back to these days. So much better than this world today.
Certainly was 👍👍👍👍👍💕
It sounds just fine!
Timeless Memories the great sixties 👍😆
Not sure Del Shannon should be in a collection of one hit wonders. Love his music
Nor should Bev Blivens and The Wee Five
Obviously. You should complain that they use a re-recording.
Great music rock and roll music will never die
Spot on friend - trouble is I still think I am 20 until the old bones beg to differ
I grew up as a teen in the 60s. Loved (and still love) the music.
Jeanette, you’re a little hottie!! 💋
me too jeanette....this IS music unlike todays bass fuelled tripe
I was a teenager in the 60s
Still love some of the greats .
I am usually at home with these tunes of the 50s, and 60s, as they send me to apogee each time I listen to them. Beautiful music from a beautiful era by my own reckoning. Cheers!
Anyone think today’s music will still be popular in 60 years? My granddaughter found some of my old music, and she loves it.
My 6yr old grandson listens to ac/dc tnt everyday on the way to school he says todays music sucks yes i said school im in texas love the red states no more lckdowns
My grandchildren also. They even sing and dance to it.
Mine also
I like to watch the old video's of the artist. No many of them on you tube but......
1950-1980: Best period in world history!
Except for Vietnam war.
Well, o.k., but we also have wars, although less being concerned about it in the West.
Thanks for bringing back the greatest memories of my life, Music Hits.
I may have to go through my collections of 45s. I’m pretty sure Del Shannon had more than one hit song.
Boy its fun to hear these songs again:)
Think how great the original versions would sound
I'm 76 and it is still my kind of music. I have tapes and CD's sitting on my player ready to be listened to anytime I feel like it.
Yeah! It was great, wasn't it?
Tapes and CDs? (Slaps record player, eight track and reel to reel player) Those are too hip for my blood there, youngster. Dont have room for cds and cassettes amongst my sock garner, rolidex and wheelo magnetic spinning tops collection. Anyway Im going to take some bromoseltster as I feel under the weather and watch the tube. Drags on 15th Lucky Strike cigarette in the past 7 minutes. Don't want to miss American Bandstand after all.
I'm right behind you. 😄

I think we have the best of the 60s and 70s the music . That was the music we understand every word we dance we laughed and we enjoy life that was the good old times even when we have a fight with a kid it was different I remember those years with so much love and I think they will never come back but at least we enjoy it
Hello Norma, how are you doing? I hope you are fine, I’m Jonathan from Dartmouth MA it’s my pleasure to meet, seems like you are a real country girl?
I only love the old music, those before 1980. 1950s and 60s are esp rich in very nice music.
Why they were so nice music, and now so suck ?
I am retired, divorced, with children moved out to form their families. So I go out to walk around to a few restaurants, cafes, and food court to pass my days, listening to old music thru my hifi bluetooth speaker or earphones with electronics modified by myself, esp those 60s music like Andy Williams, Ronnie Aldrich, Louise Armstrong. They warm my heart!
But I hv never heard their music any more elsewhere especially much less radio and tv being played at public places now a day in Singapore.
I feel old at 67, amd what is wrong with this world ??!!
