I really appreciate these fabrication type videos Travis. I even wish you showed us how to make the lower pass door post you made as well, such great work. I never get tired of the step by step fab. More please 🙏
"Didn't look like much." Um, that looked like a hell of a lot of thought and fabrication to me! Well done, and inspiring stuff for us that don't have access to space and all the tools! Really enjoy how you approach the challenges, find solutions, and make it all work. Go RAC, keep moving forward!
To compensate for the press tonnage, I would make a v-clamp with a slot cut out then use the press (maybe the pullmax?) to just make the bead. Just don't clamp too tight so it can shift without tearing/shearing.
Man that EMS support is insane. I bought a ton of their stuff for my 60 f100 and it all seems pretty good. Seems like they definitely missed the mark on that piece!
Nice results but you need some guide pins on the formers to stop them twisting and allow more smoother radius on them for material stretch. From a former steel works engineer. You'll thank me later
Hi Travis, excellent work but I noticed the couple of minutes you done some hammer forging. Be nice to show us how you did it. It’s looks fantastic, getting a heap of ideas for my A model firewall. Keep the videos rolling 👍
Travis, Yes I did a similar thing on my Inter truck cab with a piece of 3mm plate. But folded the angle first then ground the right shape into a solid piece of steel then with using the oxy heated up the angle and beat it into the groove and it looks amazing. I did find out later but to press these shapes you need at least a 30T press that's why I'm on the hunt for a 40T press. But love your work. Oh love your shirt design and when the dollar rate comes back I'll be shopping for one.
Cowl foot came out awesome, ems is a joke. I left a reply on one of there posts about how bad the 36 pannels are and my comment along with another person's that was very similar were deleted. Someone needs to make better pannels and make them take notice. For what they charge they should fit

Those pieces really came out great Travis 👍 always love watching your work!
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow, thats a pretty cool tech how you did those pilar foots. Thanks for sharing it!
Great press tool 👍
I learn something new every time I watch you... Thanks man!
Glad I could help!
Love all the fab stuff, especially when it turns out so Nice-NICE!
Nice NICE!!
Very Nice work Travis Making all those patch panels. Coming along nicely
Thanks 👍

ABSOLUTELY great video travis!
Appreciate it!

Nice job!
I agree totally. I have a REALLY sad 35 5 window that will need those pieces amongst so much more should I ever get around to working on it

Thanks for the tips! I’ll try and add that to the jig
Ya just have to soldier on. Make things you can't accept and accept things you can't make. But you can make anything. Enjoy
The feet make the foundation. The load is spread over the surface of the feet.
Like the "FTG" shirt, was that for "those guys" at EMS ? 😂
Thanks for another , Brother !

.....yeah, Jacob is who I was referring to,...

Yes I’m looking for another press also mines not cutting it
like your stamping
I'm curious if a two step process would work best. First, make the 90 degree bend. Then, second, make the indent. Great ingenuity!
Possibly but I feel the indent part wouldn’t be as smooth but I can try that
EMS panels suck, but there half way made. Something to work with. Doing the exact same thing right now on my 36.
Yeah exactly, it’s a good start lol
👍
Are you chopping the roof on the yellow 36?
I'd try to heat the 10 gage
The 16 gage looks perfect. I'd just like to see how heavier gage works with a little heat.
Your 100% right about those sketchy brackets . What was the guys name that has a channel that makes all those different dies ? Thanks
He’s not on CZcams but his Instagram name is oldmatesawyer
Would you consider making those inner quarter patches for sale. Have the same issues with my Cabriolet

They honestly should fit. Like they’re not cheap.
Really you do not need that gauge of metal for the feet
Some Detroit engineers call that dimple a dart on their throttle body cable cam stamping.
Some Meadville, Pa tool shops giggle hearing "dart".
Gday trav, what tonnage is your press ? I have a 12 t press I need to make similar cheers nice job
I think it’s a 12 ton
Thankyou I shall be trying something similar on my 34 coupe great job love that 32 of Kelly’s 🤣
Hang the body from ceaing ?
get ride of that junk bmw and you will have room for a real car
