    Pretty solid, especially for the price. Works better as a blender than a food processor, but is generally reliable either way. Not the most powerful machine, but again, especially good for the price. The purchase was a nice surprise.

    Be sure not to run it for more than 15 seconds, then pause 30 seconds. The motor has bushing type non lubricated bearings inside, which heat up when running for too long, which will wear and damage these bearings quickly

    I have one, and was making a mixed drink in the large cup. It was perhaps 3/4 full, when I activated the motor (everything was seated just fine), fluid shot up out the gap between the lid and the shaft that holds the blades (easily seen in your video at 00:35 seconds). The fluid then leaked out the top of the lid, and over the snapped down pour lid. If there were a better seal between the blade and the lid, I'd be happy.

      I have a Ninja Storm which is very much like this. I enjoyed using it, but found the liquid splashed up and into the opening in the motor lid. It is difficult to clean as I cannot put water in the lid. Have tried q tips soaked with water, but do not know how effective that is as I cannot see into the opening.

    I absolutely love my NInja Master Prep. I will never buy a McDonald's McCafé Frappé Caramel again becuase you can make the best ones from your Ninja. I make the best salsa and the kids loved the fruit snow icees I made from the crushed snow ice. As far a healthy smoothies, this is hands the best for my green smoothies. Love it. My only thing from the video I see is that I only pulse in increments in order not to burn out the motor.

  • @STV-H4H
    @STV-H4H Před 9 lety +2

    I bought myself this little gadget to replace a blender, but not for the food processing capabilities. I just wanted to crush ice (my blender did a poor job, and my food processor did a worse job.) But this thing works very well for many tasks, but I have a complaint that I was hoping to find already addressed today.
    The motor body is terrible to handle if your hand has any moisture, particularly anything slippery. No gripping it because of it's conical shape, and dropping it on the counter top is truly irritating. The anti slip base material should be integrated along the head in such a way that this doesn't happen. Using two hands is an obvious option, but inconvenient, and shouldn't be necessitated.
    Another problem is the underside of the motor head, liquids tend to find their way way up the blade shaft and seep into the inaccessible crevice ring and opening that the blade-shaft needs to enter for operation. Cleaning it out isn't a simple wipe off thing, and I am concerned that it will eventually become an issue.
    But the low price and ability this thing offers makes it an indispensable tool for my kitchen.

      Manasa N.C Hi, the blender runs only when you hold down the button. You can pulse it like I did when making the salsa :-)

      Scott W. Cook Are yo happy with it? Does it have a burning rubber smell when you use it?

      MrBeatboxmasta I'm not Scott, but I can tell you I have three Ninjas and none have ever smelled like rubber.

      Wanda J Too bad I didn't get someone to answer my question sooner. It might have impacted my decision. I already bought something else. :)

    Some of the liquid i was blending got into the little nook at the bottom of the motor, and its almost impossible to get it out without submerging the bottom in water or spraying it with water, which they recommend you dont do. But theres no instructions on how to clean it....

    Can you make like a juice liquid? Does it have to be creamy like a smoothie?

    • @bestkitchenreviews
      @bestkitchenreviews  Před 9 lety

      Brookexx Hi Brooke, the Ninja is a blender so it blends whatever you put inside. If you want juice, consider buying a juicer which extracts just the juice from produce. Please watch my juicer reviews to see how they work :)

    you need to pulse a few times first to get the ice, food to drop down to be ground up. Then run at full speed.

    I did the exact same thing she did; put in a tray of ice cubes, held the button down for half a minute, and got about half of it mixed up, the other half wee still whole ice cubes. Why can't it work for me like the reviews?

    I love my Ninja , but the blade in the small one terrify me. I can't tell you how many times I've cut myself on those blades. You were right to put the ice in the way that you did + bestkitchenreviews
