Many thanks for this crash course in EU law! My professor sucked at explaining it (he preferred to brag about his personal experiences instead) and I couldn't understand anything. Now I have a little bit more confidence in myself and maybe I'll even be able to get a positive grade on my institutional law of the eu exam which is in a few hours.

thank you for this video! I agreed with all of your points of view besides explaining EU Law. People did take peace for granted and history keep repeating itself, I could not imagine that war still exist in 2022 because I thought everyone has been taught and showed how horrible its consequence is, however it repeated itself, again.

Hi, glad you enjoyed the video - and yes totally agree, the world is far more fragile than we are led to believe and the only way to maintain peace is to keep working at it.

That's why I find it quite ironic how older folks generally voted in favour of Brexit. You would think that since a lot of them were the children of folks who lived through the second world war, and some even lived through it, that THEY would be the ones best in place to understand the need of a union like the European Union as that was the whole point of the making of this union. To unite us all in such a way that it could ensure peace and stability and avoid war between the memberstates. You would honestly assume that since they lived through the horrors of the war, and those who were raised by those who lived through it, that they would understand the need of countries working together. Yet, it seems the vast majority of them actually voted to leave the European Union and willingly forget the reason why it was created in the first place. It's honestly astouning that it's the younger folk who are generally in favour of remaining (and now returning). You would assume that they would be the most indifferent as they take peace for granted as they've never known any better since they were born in a time for relative peace in Europe. It's mindboggling.

But how does an EU citizen enforce an EU law when there is a conflict with a member state AND that EU citizen cannot afford an attorney to petition a court to intervene? Lawyers typically want 10000 euros to initiate a suit which is a price many cannot afford.

Low chance you'll respond this late on from the upload, but I just have a question, if some countries are too small to join the EU why did Malta join when they're smaller than say andorra?
    Just curious

When it comes to free movement, the notion of an EU citizen being treated equally no matter where in the EU they live is not completely true. You are only allowed to live in other EU countries if you meet income requirements (have a job or self employed, enough passive income, etc...) and if you are flat broke and having trouble getting a job, you might be asked to leave. Contrast this with the US where any citizen can live in any state at will regardless if their economic status. In my view, if you are truly an EU citizen, then you should be able to live in any EU state without any restrictions whatsoever.

you give too many definitive statements, that's the opposite of knowledge. You're presenting this as a university level course, then you need to be more accurate, eg. it's a specific theory that more trade will lead to less war, it is still debated amongst academics, it's not something that is objectively true, how would one even design an experiment to test that.
You are young and have a lot to learn. If you want to present this as better than the average clickbait YT video, you need to increase the quality and possibly learn more.
