Our First Ever Visit to Shedd Aquarium in Chicago

- We visited Shedd Aquarium in Chicago on Friday, March 19, 2021. This was a place we had long wanted to visit, but because of the pandemic, this particular visit was rather frustrating and disappointing. There were definitely issues with physical distancing and we ran into a real problem when we tried to have lunch there. We did achieve our goal of seeing beluga whales! I also show you the souvenirs we bought in the gift shops there.
The Shedd Aquarium is so big! I loved it when I visited years back! -S
Shedd is adhering to the lowered capacity. As members, we have enjoyed the timed entry and lowered capacity. Over the years (to avoid large crowds), we usually pull our kids out of school on a mid week day. We just consider it a field trip. Definitely come back when they have the shows.
We love aquariums! This one looked really nice. I get what you are saying about how different things are traveling in the pandemic. We have had to lower our expectations a bit and just avoid situations where we didn't feel safe. We have been Tom a number of places where we left saying, "That was nice, but we should go check it out when the pandemic is over to see what it is really like." Thanks for showing us what Shedd Aquarium has to offer!

We have only been to a few, which is why we were so excited to go to this one. I think I would really like Shedd, just not during the pandemic! If I remember correctly, the aquarium in Boston was very nice.

Is there an aquarium in Washington, DC? I know about the National Aquarium in Baltimore. Is that the one you mean or a different one?

Yes, my parents, my older two children, and I are all fully vaccinated, but that was after we filmed this video. My youngest has had his 1st shot.
I could've told you to stay home and save yourself the misery. Until all these venues open up without restrictions, it is just not worth it.
