Dream trip - to do the transatlantic crossing. I’d be just as curious to watch the fascinating video as shown here, on keeping the crew ready to fight a fire at sea, as I would to watch a video about a subject Cunard and/or its parent Carnival refuse to discuss in any detail (with good reason)- that being the Queens’ security measures and capabilities. To my knowledge, Cunard will not confirm whether the ships have lethal defensive capabilities on board, and the specifics thereof. I would hope that they quietly do, for certainty not all the seas and oceans these magnificent ships transit are necessarily friendly. And Cunard is obviously well-aware that the QM2 and her sisters will always be terrorist targets. I’d still love to sail on arguably the world’s only operating, true ocean liner. Just takes money- quite a bit. TY for fascinating presentation.

2014 voyage to NYC we had a spill of chemicals in one of the engine rooms. Emergency announcement really spoked us. Kept muting the film though for each announcement
Keep in mind Cunard and Costa are both Carnival companies. The officer on call in the begining of this clipp is Italian. All Carnival brands rotate crews..what happened to Concoardia could well happen to QM2. How many fires and explosions can QM2 continue to have till something happens.

I think it is interesting to note that Carnival touts Cunard as a British ship yet I see so few British officers and crew onboard.
QM@ has never had a fire....well she had one yesterday on the way to New York..its all over Cruise Critic apparently.

We do not rotate officers, P&O And Cunard stay there, Princess stay with princess or P&O aus, Costa remain with costa and so on..
Remember small 20ft yachts cross the channel.
