Thanks for that video. My daughter had this Mac and it had not worked for years. She wanted me to take the hard drive out and throw the computer away. There is no obvious way I was able to do it thanks to this video, I was able to do it. I have another suggestion for taking the magnetic couple frot screen off because I do not have a suction cup. I used a box cutter knife and easily wedged it in the top right-hand corner. This did not damage any of the computer. I then used a screwdriver and pushed behind the wedged blade and was it was easy to release the strong magnet couple.

thank you for this - however could I make some comments - PLEASE make sure you know which part is which - dont say "i think this is the power supply or maybe this!!"
also if you are going to make a tear down video - please show all steps (your camera missed one of the connectors being removed) Just think about how you are going to film it before you start - maybe Fix Two cameras in position first - (or film it twice and edit it together)
Hope you dont mind these comments but people often rely on vides like these and if steps are missed (not shown on screen) then its pointless

I thought it was a #10 Torx! Why he says it's a T9 has me stumped. The T10 even felt a little loose for my liking but it was the only one that fit. No mention that you need an extra slim torx bit and extension to get down through the narrow gap, just that the first one doesn't "fit" but not why, because it's the regular size hex bit and a slim one is needed to get in there.

What is in the area where the Apple symbol is in the center of the bottom of the Imac ?
I have always hated the silver Apple symbol.
I would love the create the old multi colored Apple logo, cut the gray one out, replace it with a transparent or translucent old Apple logo & have an led light go on when the Mac is powered on and shut off when it restarts or is shut off.
The same for the back panel Apple as well, particularly on my 2009 Macbook Pro.

I have recently started having problems with my screen suddenly going black. The computer is still running. If a video is playing, I can even still hear it. But I can't see the screen again w/o doing a hard power off and starting up again. I came to YT to see if other people are having that problem and many people are, esp. on the 27" late 2009 iMacs, which is what I have. Do you happen to have a video that addresses this issue??

Maybe you can help me to figure out something.
I have an iMac 27 from 2011. My HDD is a 1TB 7200. There are two partitions.
On it I have a regular installation of Capitan (if I remember correctly) and one where I have Windows 7 installed, that I used to have PC games on. The OSX I used for music and everything else.
About a month ago I started having issues with the starting up of OSX. Now neither the regular start up nor the Recovery goes all the way. They run half the way where the Apple Logo is and then start all over again or I have to restart it myself if it gets stuck.
When I try to start up Windows the same thing happens.
Only if I use FAIL SAFE START, I get all the way into windows. But I haven't found anything that I could do to change the other prompting.
Q - Could it be the HDD that is not working correctly? Is it something else?
I have built a handful of PC's over the years, so I am somewhat familiar with the components.
    Thanks for the video.

Is there anyway to restore this? It’s possible this is a part of a “factory defect,” ..came across this in my research so far. Apparently it’s not able to be fixed, but if some ppl were able to get their monitor replaced at a Genius Bar 10 years ago, does that mean it’s possible to replace? It’s over 10 years old, so I doubt Genius Bar will work on this now hahah! It’s so pretty, hope I can restore it.
