  • Hi there! I love Classic books! Here is a review and my thoughts on Bram Stoker's Dracula and Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. I absolutely adore these books and hope that I can convince you to pick up these Gothic Classics! These wonderful novels have influenced our culture immeasurably and are absolutely worth your time.
Make sure to seek the original text when picking up your own copy.
Please excuse some of my haggard setup, as this is my second video with this new side channel of mine.
If you also are enthusiastic about "The Classics", you most definitely have a home here.
If you are a fan of historical non-fiction, again, you have home here.
If you are a fan of Fantasy novels, I am just myself committing to dipping my toes further into that genre and will love your feedback.
The focus of my channel is to promote reading of great books, whether you are an avid reader who reads 100+ books a year, somebody who once read but has lost the habit, or somebody who never really has developed that love but would like a place to start.
I am extremely excited to have you around. I hope my enthusiasm for books and stories comes through. I can't wait to interact with you about this thing I am so passionate about.

I've read Frankenstein, Dracula, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll, and Mr. Hyde, Phantom of the Opera, and Hunchback of Notre Dame. Keeping up with the Aurora Monster Models.

I haven't gotten to Hunchback yet. It is always near the top of the list and then loses out to something else.

i like this format. if you liked the count of monte cristo you may also like the scarlet pimpernel. jane eyre is a staple in classics. I'd also be interested in reviews of more modern classics. 1984, dune, animal farm, etc. keep it up.

Make sure to seek the original 1818 text of Frankenstein. Later editions came with some edits that, in my opinion, take away some of the charm and appeal of the original.

Just finished reading both (dracula then Frankenstein)
Dracula was a cooler adventure/thriller while Frankenstein was just an all-around tragedy. Both great in their own way. Was very surprised how Frankensteins monster wasn't just a brainless brute.

Does this quote apply to Frankenstein?:
    - We decided to play God, create life. When that life turned against us, we comforted ourselves in the knowledge that it really wasn't our fault, not really. You cannot play God then wash your hands of the things that you've created. Sooner or later, the day comes when you can't hide from the things that you've done anymore.
