One detail I feel like might be easy to miss is the use of the lowpoly model with its arms cut in half. That alongside a "hopeful" chorus thats dripping in sarcasm is a clear (if sour) reminder of the nature of how _this_ Midas took off. Every door slamming shut the moment you approach them only to get booted through the one that wasn't meant to be open in the first place. The use of multiple vocal tracks used in the chorus also conveys the idea that this song is written as a duet. The verses being a creative trying to vent about their problems, and the chorus being the audience giving the eternally useless "you're fine, honey, you did nothing wrong." A cliche even I've fallen into. Doubly so when one considers how each Midas color here is embracing the community's interpretation of them being different personae. Thinking about it in that lense reminds me of the old "how are you single?" compliment. "How do you not have more views? You so x/y/z!" "Great fukkin question, buddy, why don't you tell me!?" Obviously (most) streamers aren't going to be _that_ hostile in response to their chat. But god, I can only imagine how tempting it is to fire back like that. How painful it is when the audience sees the more common tale of the king that turns everything they touch into gold, while the creator feels more like the tale of the man that was given donkey ears because he gave the ever fickle gods the wrong answer while judging a contest he wanted no part in to begin with. Oh, and either way it was Dionysus' fault, so drowning your sorrows might amount to worshiping the source of your problems anyway, because the Fates have a twisted sense of humor. But the main line that intruiges me here is "You act surprised. You've been here before." After a while people tend to get used to rejection, with Midas herself even releasing that short not too long ago about how she's just going to assume all roads lead to failure. And yet, you keep trying to open those doors, don't you? The allure of the nectar on the other side is too great, innit? Well, good. I'm not going to argue against this interpretation of the song, and I'm probably joining the useless chorus in saying this, but remember that abandoning your passions is a form of suicide in and of itself. If your soul cries out for something, listen to it. I don't doubt you'll have more doors close in the process, but I also don't think you'd have picked the lounge aesthetic for the instrumentation if it was all doom and gloom, given the old song covers. I'd like to interpret those trumpets as perserverence, even if its just productive masochism. Granted, I could be wrong and its just copium as a chaser for the black pill. But I've got a feeling this is a sign of more things to come.

I love the ghosting effect like this is being played on an old lcd screen. The touch of Midas walking past doors and then disappearing as metaphorically they closed behind her never to be reopened again is a nice touch. Most if not all of the assets look amazing and don't do that annoying or we're going to twist the pixels which you can't actually do! My only real complaint is it seems like from the elbow down on her arms when she's walking past the doors doesn't seem to exist but maybe I'm just being acoustic?

this speaks to me, currently in a loop of waking up at late, getting some free time, working out, a bit less free time, work till late, then coming home even later and either squeezing the night for free time, or just going to sleep and recover for the next day. i am an artist digitally, but have found no time, inspiration or motivation to do so as im using everything for strength training, and trying to find the motivation to stay at my job. its miserable as its high pressure, single person, repetitive stuff that gets me wet and dirty for minimum wage, its so stupid but its not like i can do bare minimum, as i am the most important person in the workplace, in the sense that if i was not there, and nobody took my place, eventually nothing would happen. which is the perfect circumstances to give up on stuff, so i can safely say i feel pretty jaded.
As long as we put our happiness in the hands of someone else, there'll always the chance of it being snubbed, crushed and discarded. Which is especially cruel since we're wired to want to. It'd be so nice to give ourselves to someone, and know for sure that it's safe - that they'll receive us and hold us. And then playing that game with tens, hundreds, thousands of people at a time? What are we doing to ourselves. 🙃

love the voice! my only recomendation with using autotune/ this type of vocoding is to use less inflection. My humble example is Living Tombstone's voice. he can sing, but there are songs he's released with his more natural voice and breathy tone without stressing sounding pitch perfect and others he clearly used so many filters on purpose to create a distinct sound :) People thought T-Pain couldn't sing but listen to his "war pigs" cover 😂
