well consider me the second person who will speak only positively about Kashmir. Truly Heaven on earth. I am a solo woman traveller. just came back from my trip and visited Srinagar, Gulmarg, Sonmarg and Pahalgam. No words to describe the beautiful landscapes. Absolutely stunning views. and trust me no camera can do full justice compared to what you can actually see with your own eyes.
If people only visited these places in Kashmir, Europe and Switzerland will automatically get eliminated from their list. and yes the people of Kashmir are the sweetest and kindest ive come across. They treat tourists like royalty. I got a truly local experience in Srinagar and Jammu as I was hosted by both Kashmiri Muslim and Kashmiri Pandit families in their homes !! Never once did I feel insecure anywhere in Kashmir. Pahalgam I was the only guest in an under construction hotel ( becs I was looking for a budget hotel) there were only 2 rooms one where the manager stayed and one he gave it to me. it still had a heated blanket, geyser and was basically a clean room with clean washroom. thats all that I needed anyways.
