  • Join me for the final section of the 189 mile Thames Path. This was a challenge with huge sections flooded and I have to be determined to find a way through and wade knee deep through to the source of the Thames. It is quite emotional finishing a national long distance trail and all the memories with friedns who joined over the last few months. This adventure helped keep me going in the difficult year and I hope this inspires you to have a go at this path. It is possible to do weekly sections with good train access all within 2 hours of London. Some sections are so remote you really feel like you are in the wilderness yet in the heart of England.
I really enjoyed this walk and am so glad I completed and recorded the journey. Great memories were made with friends who joined me on various sections of the walk. I completed the whole walk in 14 different sections starting in November 2020 and completing it in August 2021.

The humble source of the Thames develops countless life features and stories for thousands of years. Thank you for showing us that. It's a great way to record your journey by making these videos. Well done!!!

Well done on completing the path. That flooded field you were in at the start I ended up taking boots and socks of rolling up my trousers and waded knee deep through it. The path where you got wet feet was nowhere near as bad as you had it. Pleased to see you saw the funny side to it. Congratulations.

You did well Richard to go through the field. I don’t mind the wading if there is solid ground underneath but in field your not sure if it will be deep mud. I’m pleased to complete it. It’s easier for you now on the later sections thankfully 👍

The Thames is really the history of the nation - it’s brilliant to walk the whole length and see it all 👍

Really enjoyed your Thames path walk. So much history pretty villages countryside London and different things to see on the river. Thankyou for doing this video as I watched them back to back but I was hooked.

WELL DONE Richard! A great achievement and as @Bourne Outside said: a feather in your cap!! Also well done for total commitment on the final stretch despite the flooded footpaths. Fascinating seeing the source. As you know, I’ve walked some of the path. Have done Thames Barrier to Teddington so far (about 25-30 miles). You’re inspiring me to get my hiking boots back on! 🥾🥾 Thanks again for taking us along. Ben

Thanks Ben it always feels good to finish what we start. This walk is possible over many weeks but each stretch is accessible from London. But just getting into countryside for the odd stretch is great too and as I show there are wild camping spots 👍

Thanks Grant it’s nice to finish what we start if possible. Now to continue the SWCP and start the Essex Way 👍

  • @rollingstrongwithrazo1915

Brilliant achievement Richard, you’ve been there done it and now all you have to do is have the tee shirt printed. I thoroughly enjoyed every episode.
I learnt a lot about the River Thames, but I kept thinking of the brown source we all know and love on our bacon sandwiches with the Houses of Parliament on the label, you know the one.
Appropriate motif for this series ? 😎❤️🇬🇧🇵🇭

What a great idea I should have taken some brown sauce with me 😂 it took time but I think time well spent - better than watching box sets 👍😄♥️
