How to Make Cutlet with Leftover Upma

  • What you'll need
    • Bread crumbs- 1/2 cup
    • Upma- 2 cup
    • Water- as needed
    • Oil- 1 tbsp+ for deep frying
    • Potato- 2
    • Carrot- 2
    • Onion- 1
    • Green chilli- 1
    • Ginger- a small piece
    • Coriander leaves- few
    • Red chilli powder- 1 tsp
    • Salt- 1/2 tsp
    • Garam masala- 1/2 tsp
    • Corn flour- 1 tbsp
    How to prepare
    • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a kadai.
    • Add 1finely chopped green chilli
    • and ginger.
    • Saute it.
    • Add the veggies one by one and saute.
    • Add the spieces and mix well.
    • Add chopped coriander leaves.
    • Then add 2 cups of upma and mix well.
    • Take a medium size vegetable upma mix and shape it like patties.
    • Add enough water to the corn flour and make a thin batter.
    • Coat the cutlets in bread crumbs first.
    • Then dip it in the corn flour batter.
    • Again coat it with bread crumbs.
    • Heat oil in a kadai and when hot deep fry the cutlets in medium flame.
    • Repeat the process for rest of the cutlets.
    Ways to perfect
    • The upma-vegetable mixture should be thick.
    • Coat the patties with bread crumbs first before dipping in the corn flour batter to get crispy cutlets.
    • Deep fry in medium flame.
