  • A Shape Like Piccadilly by Jill Hyem | BBC RADIO DRAMA: 'If he's that interested in books why doesn't he come in and borrow one?' It's a good question: Colin is obviously interested in books, otherwise why would he spend so much time gazing at the display outside the library.

    15;57.....as I thought

I'm at 3;56 and I am guessing that this young man cannot read. I also worked as a server and discovered one of my customers couldn't read because of the way he ordered his lunch. I befriended him and got him some help. My first "job" after splitting with my husband, was moving to Toronto and being a tutor for Street people, homeless, low income people. My first student could navigate the subway system no problem...how? Two ways. First he could count the stops that he had to go...or if he got distracted...the tiles on the walls were different colours at that time...eg.Landsdowne was green, Union was pink. You have to have some sense to be able to get by in a city with four million people. So....let's see if I'm right...pause to play :)

Spoiler alert lol. Yes it was pretty obvious. Also yes I’ve always thought an illiterate person must be dead clever to navigate life in general without the ability to read. Illiteracy rarely equates to ignorance. Good on you for being of service. I’m sure you helped many people.👍🏼👏✝️🙏🏼🕊️🥰

@@TedaRObviously you fell through the cracks in our educazionale system. He/She is looking for the word "hymen". Not spelled the same and only a Juvenile mind would post that anyway. So childish! Like prepubescent children looking at national geographic for photos of African women with bar breasts and giggling about "boobies"!

@@TedaRIncorrect. Look again. Her name is Hyem; the membrane is hymen. Take a basic anatomy class, or sex ed.
