I’m going through the same struggle. It’s like it’s automatic. I’ve asked God over and over again to help me. And I definitely don’t swear at all like I used to. But I want to make no provision for it in my life but it’s very difficult. I’ll be praying for you. Please pray for me too.
huge difference between a person who is trying to go a different direction with a behavior, and what i see as a epidemic of people who call themselves children of God, but don't seem to think that this issue is "irrelevant" (not a big deal)...

Man, I was guilty of a lot of this before the Lord changed me.
Cannot stand hearing God’s name taken in vain, like “Oh, God” or “Oh, my God” or “OMG”

I agree I don't like cursing. But, look up the meaning of the word "vain" and see what it says. Vanity was,I believe the first sin against God perpetrated by lucifer.
@jimgibson4978 The definition of the word lashav (the Hebrew word used for in vain) means empty. It probably comes from another word shoal which has the connotation of a destructive storm. It is you should not lo tisa which is to take not lo tishava which is to swear.
So taking the original Hebrew it is basically to carry the Lord's name emptied.
I was also taught the same when I went to a false church. (Not saying you do... just saying when i learned it the same way.) However, if YOU look up the English word vain it's second definition is "lacking substance or worth" So even in the English the third commandment tells you not to use God's name without worth.
Have you ever noticed how atheists, Muslims, etc. All use OMG etc. And noone says oh my Allah, oh my footprints, etc. When people stub their toe they say J.C. or Sh*t and use it interchangeable.
The bottom line is God is Holy. His name should not be uttered flippantly and without reverence.

I'm born again Christian and a Free Will Baptist. I know the churches you reference and I want no part of their agenda. Nice to meet you and have this conversation. Jesus is the answer always. @jimgibson4978 lol... yeah. Not the only thing I had to do TONS of research on. I was raised in a cult and am still finding falsehoods that I thought were doctrine on just about a weekly/monthly if I'm lucky basis.

I was a fully functioning alcoholic for about 20 years. Sun up to sun down, I drank. After I was saved, through the strength of Jesus, I quit. I pray anyone who is struggling with affliction, GO TO CHRIST. My entire life has changed in ways unimaginable! May God Bless y'all.❤️🙏

It’s extremely disturbing when parents think it’s funny when their small children swear, as though they’re proud of teaching them to do so. 😔
The other day I saw a little baby (2 years old ish) and she was pointing to a product and said the f word over and over the grandmother said "no that's Pocky, do you want Pockys?" The baby gleed and said, " yes, f-word, f-word! The grandmother repeated, "no Pocky." And the kid said, " yeah pocky."
The mother was laughing holding her mouth saying "mom, mom did you hear that?" The grandmother said, "yes, I did. I don't see why it's humorous that she has heard the word enough to say it." The mother said, "Oh mom your such a prude!"
I had that conversation with my son last night, his mouth was getting out of hand. I reminded him he has a daughter that’s watching and listening..I pray that God helps him to stop it🕊💕
Thank you Jordan. Some of my church friends think nothing of saying OMG and I cringe. If I tell him or her not say it, they only laugh or tease me back that am being old fashion. Most are younger than I am and I say and remind he or she in love even when they get so red hit angry. Saying OMG really offends me in and outside of church.
I choose to disassociate from them and they are not friends more stumbling blocks. I find it hard to respect them since he or she disrespect me back. Standing firm.
Breaking the 3rd Commandment in the OT used to be grounds for capital punishment - death. God does not wink at that.

Change the "G" to Gosh or Goodness and ditch the OMG on social media. No need for a Christian to use that. IMO, IMHO, LOL, but no OMG ever.
Great video and Biblical explanation. They're few more things that I see many Christians doing and excusing that maybe you can discuss in a follow up video. Gambling (playing lotto or going to casinos), clubbing, wearing provocative clothing, and watching movies that promote sin.
To gambling include "Bingo and Beano", especially in Catholic Church.

A lot of this is related to antinomianism. I had been going to Calvary Chapels for years, many different campuses, and had known many people that could be characterized by these 5 things. The position concerning this was something like "we can't judge, and everyone is in different stages of sactification." So you have people that curse, are given to temper, smoke weed, whatever, but man they are in bible study every Thursday!! We need to hold eachother accountable and exercise church discipline. The number of people who claim Christ as Lord and cuss like a sailor grieves me and can only imagine how our Lord feels! I recently shared a short message regarding profane talk... may we instead shine as that light on a hill for Christ and not remain unchanged in our lives and hearts. I used to be like that cussing sailor and my life is a testimony that through Christ there is no sinful habit that cannot be broken! Thanks for the message!
I will tell you Jordan you are spot on I have violated all 5 of these things before i was saved and i was doing these without even thinking and now I am so blessed to know Jesus and he has forgiven me and I dont deserve any of it
I am constantly reminded of 1 John 1:9, not as a license to sin, but the way to be reconciled to the Lord whenever I stumble. As one grows in the grace of the Father through Christ ✝️ and spiritually matures, he or she will stumble less, towards perfection in Christ ✝️ at the finish line in glory.
i want to live my life so that i don't cause another brother to stumble for instance if i drink alcohol in front of a brother that has overcome or is struggling with that addiction i can cause him to stumble back in to that lifestye
Just because someone stumbles and falls, doesn’t mean they have lost their way.

Amen! The Lord Jesus is the Author & Finisher of our faith. (Hebrews 12:2) Those whom Jesus loves He chastises & rebukes, like a loving earthly father would correct his child when they do wrong, to teach them & to help them grow. (Revelation 3:19) In reference to you quoting 1 John 1:9, I would also quote Galatians 5:13. Do not use your freedom in Christ as occasion for the flesh, but in love serve one another. We also have a promise from Jesus in John 6. John 6:39: Of all the Father gives me, I shall lose none but raise them up at the last day.

I got saved a few months ago. I smoke. Every cigarette I smoke I imagine God is angry with me. I have repented, quit, started again, repented, quit, started again. I know I have not lost my salvation but I think it causes relationship problems with God. I love him and want to please him, and I just can't seem to stop. Please pray for me.
1 John 2:15... this is it brother!!!! Heavy Hitter...Hallelujah!!!! 2 Corinthians 6:17 says, "Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord; do not touch any unclean thing, and I will welcome you." WEW MUST HAVE INTEGRITY!!!
So agree with this video message. The whole cussing and cursing thing is what I encounter the most lately. It is very bothersome to hear the language coming from peoples mouths that profess Christ. They sound like everyone else. I even have a friend who says he's called to be a Pastor that cusses like a drunken sailor. I showed him the qualifications of a pastor in the scriptures and he didn't even flinch. Too bad he doesn't have a computer so that I could share this video with him.

3. Sexual immorality, porneia, fornication, adultery, lust, etc.
4. Inebriation, intoxication, drunkenness, drug abuse/addiction, hedonism, etc.
5. Satanic/worldly/secular popular culture, art, media, music, entertainment, etc., if it is evil or sinful in content/character

I am able to devoid habitual sin I would have normally done without a thought because of the power of God over me.
Let the strong ones hold the weak ones and raise them up in Christ Jesus to understand the very power by which we overcome the world.
If be it a list of what to do and not do, bare in mind, we are fallible in all our ways. Christ Jesus is the ultimate goal.

Brother you just proved in your opening why I don’t even smoke anymore. All on my mom’s side died from even smoking cigarettes, I smoke weed too. I even stopped cussing 10yrs ago and call out Christians who do even at Bible study’s everyday, Showing your Video proving everything I teach Tomorrow

Wow, great content! I'm grateful Jesus saved me from so much! I do struggle with some things and the Holy Spirit is still transforming my mind, but it's not easy being Christian. If saying son of a gun or son of a biscuit is wrong, please correct me? Usually, I respond with cheesy words like dang, gee ripes, or yes, dagnabit lol. In all seriousness tho, I've been convicted and humbled so many times for not being vigilant on even little things we often think couldn't possibly be sinful, yet, by examining them according to God's word they are. I have yet to learn more, and continue to ask God for wisdom, understanding and discernment.
I enjoyed this video and I pray for continual enlightenment.

i'm with you Jordan. they all make perfect sense for the Christian but when i hear someone taking the Lord's Name in vain, it 's just like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. ugh, makes me sick and there have been times i tell ask them to please not say those things because He is my Lord and Savior. most of the time, here in NYC, you get an angry look from people but every once in a while, you catch a sheepish look on their face and you pray that something is triggered within them. who knows, maybe they will seek the Lord or rethink how they are living. anyway, great message again! This strikes at the heart of the seeker sensitive Andy Stanley's, Joel Osteen's, etc. They call us names for following in sanctification to Christ. But, these are all tests for the Christian to rest assured you are saved. And, when the world calls us names, it rolls off like water on a duck. We abide in Christ and as we draw closer, the world fades away. Over the last 3 years, my iPod music has shrank to almost nothing as it now offends me. Christ changes us.

The wise men---these were Orientals, called “Magi,” who were astronomers and astrologers.
These were the "king-makers," no king rose in the land without their oversight and their authority. Most likely, they had been acquainted with Daniel and/or the Jewish captives in Babylon.
The magi had noted the appearance of this great and unusual star in the Western sky long before they arrived in town. They also knew what the prophet had said, that the king would be born in Bethlehem. They came FROM the East……they saw the star shining IN the West (“Star of wonder, star of light….westward-leading, still proceeding"…..).
There's a big difference between astronomy and astrology! Astrology is satan's copy of Astronomy. Genesis 1:14 "Then God said, 'Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the nigbt; and let them be for SIGNS and SEASONS, and for DAYS and YEARS.'" Astronomy is God's, astrology is satan's cheap is knockoff!!

Regarding false teachers and preachers; are you able to do a video regarding Perry Stone? He is an evangelist from Cleveland Tennessee. I have supported him for several years. However, during recent years; I have noticed some occurrences that I believe have been dishonest and misleading to his congregation. As a result, I no longer support his ministry.
He was involved in a scandal in 2020. Are you able to do some research about this man?

I Hate to hear any one say our Lord and Savior name as a curse word. I feel like I hear I every day at school, stores, and friends at school. Last week I was in Washington DC for a field trip for my school. And I learned that one of my roommates is a "Christian" why do I say that? Because he said JC. I hate to hear it and sometimes I even say it well in my mind when I say jeez my mind says Jc. I am glad that my church never said JC at all cause we know it's blasphemy. I have also swear. Which I know I am not supposed to do business 1 Bible says so and 2 because my mom says it's wrong. And I know I should honor her. Beside from doing work for her before she says anything. I know that last bit won't get me to heaven but just helping my mom gives me joy for me and my mom. So no more swearing or blasphemy.

Good question! The Bible says in Romans 12:9 that we are to hate evil but love good things. As far as other worldwide media, we are to use biblical discernment, meaning finding a verse throughout the New Testament and researching the music group.
Also, find the context throughout any verses that convict you. See where the Lord is coming from.
My brother and his wife, professing Christians, use the phrase, “Oh My God” a lot and think nothing about it. Say that is dishonoring God’s name, someone Christians are supposed to love more than anything or anyone

I’ve always had a problem lusting after women and falling into porn time to time.I’ve gotten much better over the years, but still fall.
I’ve recently unsubscribed from a gamer who oftentimes became drunk. Now I’m free to ask Jesus for forgiveness, because there’s still so much to do to become a Christ-like model for other people. Also, avoid resentment, but if you’re angry with someone, it’s time to repent.

@JordanRiley well It wasn't mentioned in the NT but was related to paganism in the OT. So it could still be a dicey choice, I guess, depending on what you've tattooed on yourself.

I agree with everything you said brother Jordan except for coffee. Drinking coffee is not a sin. It doesn't alter your mind. It's not a drug either. There's a lot of things that can be addictive. Almost anything can be addictive if you miss use it. Sprite doesn't have any caffeine, the lemon lime soda can be addictive. Drinking sprite is not a sin. Just like drinking an alcohol beverage is not a sin as long as you're not trying to catch a buzz or getting drunk
I never said it was a sin. That was a guy that I used in the opening video to lead into the discussion. Where in my 5 points did I mention coffee???

@@JordanRileyI have to say that the introduction did sound like you were saying drinking coffee is a sin. Then I watched the entire video and recognized that it takes your comment out of context. But people wouldn't know that if they didn't watch any further.
Coffee is an antioxidant and many doctors claim it is good for us. I hope it is, because I can't imagine my morning without my coffee first thing. More than anything else, it reminds me of home and of my dad.....happy memories attached to it! Whenever I hear someone say, Jesus, I ask, do you know him? Why don't you say Mohammed, or Buddha, etc.
Everyone who is of the world does not know Jesus, but hates him anyway. In John 15:18, Jesus encouraged the apostles because “the world hates you because they hated me first.”
Despite what some “Christians” say (and them wanting to force people and others to live strict lives)...the Bible says we should have fun and live life to the fullest!

There is literally nothing on this Earth we should do but read the Bible.
