বাংলাদেশ প্রকৌশল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ভর্তি পরীক্ষায় প্রথম হলেন বগুড়ার শিবগঞ্জ উপজেলার দাড়িদহ গ্রামের মেফতাউল আলম। এর আগে তিনি ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ক ইউনিটে প্রথম হন এবং ঢাকা মেডিকেল কলেজে সুযোগ পান। বগুড়ার সরকারি আজিজুল হক কলেজ থেকে জিপিএ-৫ নিয়ে এইচএসসি পরীক্ষায় উত্তীর্ণ হন তিনি।
