  • Have you ever wished that double crochet stitches didn't leave such large holes in your crochet work? If you're like me, you certainly have.
The Linked Double Crochet stitch is amazing in that it eliminates those large gaps in between your dc stitches while still keeping (almost) the same stitch height. There is a slight discrepancy in the overall height of your stitches with the linked double crochet, so keep that in mind when you are doing a project. You may wish to go up a hook size and make your gauge swatch prior to substituting this technique when a pattern calls for doubles.
This stitch pattern does not require a specific multiple of stitches and creates a nice, dense crochet fabric that would be great for a warm sweater or blanket. It would also be great for a crochet bag pattern that uses dc stitches so that you won't have to line the bag like you normally would in an all-dc bag. I hope you enjoy trying this technique!
