After my parents rescued me from the mob after being raped at age 19, we stayed at a hotel half way back to home. My Dad started having hearing issues. There was a program on tv where my mother commented "what a beautiful boutonnière (men's flower on lapel of suit)" and my dad says "What's in his ear?!!" We laughed so hard we were all in tears! My parents are both with the Lord now and that memory still makes me laugh. I miss them so much, this brings tears to my eyes. Thank you Mama Joyce for all that you and your ministry does. And God bless you and your family, Ginger. ❤

I understand where you’re coming from. I have a very disfunctional family myself. After sixty years of putting up with it, I finally put my foot down and said if they couldn’t treat me with the same respect they’d show a stranger, I didn’t want them coming around and I blocked several of them. I’ve had more peace in the last five years than I’ve had in my entire life. I have many good friends and a couple of relatives I still associate with, so I’m not lonely. I don’t bear ill will toward my disfunctional family, as I know why they are as they are, but I alone get to decide what I’ll tolerate and what I won’t and if kicking someone to the curb is necessary, so be it. It’s not rejecting them as a human being it’s just defining my boundaries.

I'm glad it was a calm show. A few days ago they had Toni on. She insulted Catholicism and she was overly rambunctious. I think Joyce received a lot of messages about it. It was too much.
