There is big difference between our mentalities (Ro and D) and our pigeons health conditions also.
In order to make progress, Hugo mentioned only a good pigeons and loft quality, and that because in West it doesn't happen as to our place, I mean there are too less health, food and conditioning products problems by comparisson with our pigeons which are flied by majority of columbofils. It's enough that one guy brings few sick pigeons into the transport car and all that theory of keeping medicine away is canceled. It should be forbbiden to bring sick pigeons and the columbofils to be punished by non-participating for many years if their pigeon are seen visible affected by illness. But the rule is respected or not depending the own or small group interest at one specific moment of competition. Many know what I'm talking about.
In RO, unfortunatelly, many columbofils are basketing their sick pigeons in order to "clean" their lofts or even worst, to "spread sickness to the competition".
Nevermind...
Coming back to pigeon selection, In my opinion, to get out a pigeon from the loft, the columbofil has to make sure first that loft is ok (ventilation and humidity at least), food was ok, health was ok, recovering and conditioning were ok and only after that to conclude if one pigeeon worth to be kept or not.
It sound easy for Hugo, not so easy for the rest. And that is not because of bad pigeons but bad conditions and poor knowledge for many other columbofils.
After all, very very good interview and useful a lot...
