    Awesome introductory overview. If you could tie the sequence of operations all together, that would be amazing!

      Thanks for the suggestion. We wanted this to be an introductory to the basic central plant configuration, and will provide additional videos in the future that will cover Sequences of Operation.

    I got a question, so basically the water cooled chiller here only acting as medium to transfer heat from chilled water loop to condenser water loop right?
    So then it should be no fan which a normally attach to the evaporator to transfer the cool air into space?

    • @MEPAcademy
      @MEPAcademy  Před 2 měsíci

      The chiller contains the refrigeration circuit that provides the medium for cooling the water sent to air handlers and fan coils within the building. Having a fan at the chillers evaporator would require running large ducts through the building to each space if this was even possible. One of the benefits of using a chiller is that chilled water carries a lot more energy in small pipes compared to air using sheet metal ductwork, and so it requires much less space in the building to distribute.

    High,Can a PPR pipes be used for the cool water

      Yes, of course. Checkout Aquatherm if you haven't heard of them. Their pipes are good from -5 to 200 F. aquatherm.com

    Does the chilled water loop and condensing water loop stay the same if you introduce a heating water loop?

    • @MEPAcademy
      @MEPAcademy  Před měsícem

      Are you referencing the use of a Heat Recovery Chiller where the heat from the condenser is used to preheat domestic water or some other process?

      @@MEPAcademy Where I work we have Heating water, Chilled water, and Cooling water. The heating water and chilled water are closed loops while the cooling water (from the condenser) is an open loop. I work with low pressure chillers but still extremely new to the trade (1month in) lol. But they have me as a me as a watch engineer to learn the process of the chiller, boilers, cooling tower, pumps, etc. But to be honest idk if we use Heat recovery chiller...I'd have to ask on Monday when I go back
