    The way he was treated in my city it showed the Racism that exists in Pittsburgh. This is why I don’t care of the criticism that Coach T receives because it’s racially based. They poured beer on Kordell as he was leaving the game from a lost. He had 4 different OC’s the best one he had was Chan Gaily it was disgusting. Before Mike Vick ect it was Kordell if the would’ve stuck to the same play caller of that type of offense they would’ve been good. I love my city but I hate that part of are history and we still got that bull shit going on here. They made up a lie on him saying he was caught with a Transgender that wasn’t true at all he was engaged to Porsha fine self he wasn’t on that shit. It caused many fight between white and blks here.

    • @jayrobinson4591
      @jayrobinson4591 Před 15 dny +2

      Yes indeed. All facts. I grew up in the city and I remember those days with the gay lies and always mention the same when people want to walk down memory lane and speak fondly of him like the city loved him. They did not, especially when he was the full time QB. Pittsburgh is highly racist. They hate black leadership. They will tolerate an athlete and cheer if he's winning but the moment he struggles or asks for more money the city’s true racist nature comes out. You see it with the cowher vs Tomlin debates and how they minimize tomlin’s accomplishments and what he was able to due with average players.

    • @CaptCKernel
      @CaptCKernel Před 15 dny +2

      Yep. I was lucky enough to take a few classes in college that were specifically about race relations in Pittsburgh. One of the things you don't see in most major industrial cities at the time was Pittsburgh had so many different ethnic neighborhoods, and I don't necessarily mean different racial demographics but multiple traditional Irish, multiple traditional polish, multiple traditional black, etc. I believe that is a major factor as to why the city is the way it is...the only other major city that comes to mind would be Boston and...well...we know the stereotype with Celtic fans lol
      When I see people are critical of Tomlin, I just ask them to explain WHY they don't like him. It's usually a bunch of reasons all rooted in him being an African American man, things that have been dog whistles for decades...he's too boisterous, they attack his vernacular (as of yinzer wasn't our own language lol) things like that. He has his shortcomings like every HC but he's arguably the best in the league and his demeanour makes players WANT to play in Pittsburgh

      Steelers fans are aholes unless things are going well. And yes, the racial shit and the gay shit was disgusting.
      Our fan base travels well and we have the best out of town fans of any team in any sport, but many of these individuals are POS’s for their treatment of Kordell and Tomlin. But if it makes you feel better, they turned on KP very quickly too, before he decided to leave. Probably bailed because of the fans here.
      Mularkey was Kordell’s best OC

      I agree with a majority of what you say and do appreciate coach t. That said, he has 0 playoff wins in 7 years and only 3 since the super bowl in 2010. Since when has hovering around .500 been an acceptable standard in Pittsburgh?@@CaptCKernel

      @@psimms988 Noll and Cowher both had extended periods of .500 (and less than .500)...
      I do not know how old you are, I'm not ancient by any standard but i do my fair share of diligent research for what I haven't seen directly. If the same people calling for Tomlin also called for Cowher to get the can, I would disagree with them but that would be very strong evidence that their complaints are not racially motivated.
      To be fair, I think he is fairly poor at clock management. I also think he has a way of being dismissive to the media (and by extension the fans) by not really being forthcoming with his responses. The first bit, I think even a Tomlin-stan could not find much fault in. The latter, not really his job as a coach and I'll admit that's a personal gripe. However I think it really says a lot when he is consistently mentioned as the first response for "if you could play for any coach in the league". That really says a lot imo

    It's good old Korkie.
    I remember him once saying he was a future HOF.
    Apparently his brain got slashed too.

    Fun times Watching Kordell ball. The 4 coordinators in 6 yrs absolutely hurt Slash. Also the Hatefully BS rumors that had no truth in them (my Friends Uncle was a Cop in the Burgh and said it was totally fabricated). That didnt help things.

    Damn, I wish they would have use this man 80% more than what they did one of the true organization disappointments the potential was ridiculous just like I think they should’ve used Rod Woodson as a wide receiver every now and then
