Thank you much!
You have saved me! I definitely feel better about setting up our pool in the morning.
Glad to be of help Ms. Vita. Thanks for commenting. God Bless!
Very helpful!! thanks for showing all the details.
Thanks for watching!
I used my mower to drag the 2x4 in a circle. Added sand to the low spots when needed.. probably went around 100 times. Pool is within 1/4" of being level!
👍Working Smarter not Harder
Yep. I kind of did the same thing only used a piece of chain link fence with a 2x4 attached to the front of it. Worked great!
Thank you so much! This was super helpful. I've done it the hard way and have to do it again. This time I'm going to switch to the central pipe and lever in the plank of wood.
Glad it helped! Thanks for commenting. God Bless!
Thank you for your tutorial videos... it is very helpful! I have the same pool and you did an amazing job with setting up the Coleman Deluxe Series!
Thanks You. I other videos, pool deck build, Sandpro75d sand filter, Polasis65 Vacuum and Intex Skimmer. Thanks You again.
Did you remove the grass/sod before adding the sand?
Thanks for the tips. I’m gonna try this next week
It's not fun but it works. LOL

Love the mountain music
Good old Hill Billy music in the flat land. 😂
Great banjer music!!!
👍🪕
Add weights to help pack down and level at the same time, also just use a 3ft rebar through the wood into the ground so u dont have to dig a pipe out
Good Tip.
Hello ! Thanks for the video . How much sand did you use ? Did you put the sand over grass ?
Can't go by how much sand I used because my ground was so unlevel. But you want a minimum of 3 inches under the pool.
We did the same thing and our low side has about 10 inches of sand and high about 2. will that much sand hold up overtime?
On the high side of mine I sloped it out another 8 foot or so, then mulched it with straw/hay to get the grass growing. I was worried it would wash out if I didn't slope it out away from pool.
We are doing a small retaining wall. 🤞 hopefully it works.
That should work as long as you put it in the ground deep enough.
Hi. Did you pour the San directly on the grass or dig a few inches? If you dug, what equipment did you use?
I just mowed the grass as short as I could then place sand. In the video erecting the pool you will see I put two layers of plastic on top of the sand. Thanks!
Where you get the tractor could use one.

Did you have to re level your pool after you got your sand level ,just wondering if the sand would sink in after a rain.
I was wondering the same
Yes we got so much rain during this time I had to dress it up like 3 time before I got the pool erected.
Do you know about how much sand you had to use? Thank you and hope youins is doing real good sir
I had to use a lot but if your land is level 3 inches of sand for 20 foot square is about 3.8 yards.
What kind of plastic is that and where can I purchase it from
Just black plastic from Home Depot. It comes in a rolls of different sizes.
How long did it take start to finish leveling ground if I use shovel and rake
That's hard to say, it would depend on how thick you have to go to get it level. In my case the sand is a foot deep on the back side.
@@papawsplace I got to go down about 4 invhes around and add sand trying to estimate how ling it will take with just shovels and rake
So, you are digging out 4 inches first and then adding 4 inches of sand back. If this is correct, that may take a while if the soil you're digging in is hard.
Do you know how many yards of sand for 10X16 Pool?
If your ground is level, I would go 18' for the sand so it will be out past the pool. So, 18' at 3 inches depth is 2.36 Cy's of sand.
You level your ground first before the sand?
I used the sand to level my ground. But on the back side I went out and extra 8 feet, so it would not wash out.
What type of sand did you use?
Well, it wasn't the best sand but it's about the sandiest soil I can get in this area.
I know that's note answer you wanted but I would rather have pure river sand if I could have got some.
Is there a link to buy the mason sand at
LOL, I can't help there my friend unless you're in NE Louisiana. LOL
@@papawsplace do you know how many 50 lbs bags I would need for a 18 ft pool?
That would depend on how level your ground is. If the ground is level to do a 20 foot circle 3 inches thick you would need approx. 3.0 yards or approx. 79 Cubic feet. That is like 160 50lb bags of sand.
I wish I had a tracter like that, when I shoveled 15 tons of earth and play sand all week.
I bet you did my friend. That was a lot of shoveling.
What sand do you use
any kind of sand
All I have are shovels and racks.
Hope you don't need as much sand as I need then.
how big was your pool?
18' x 48"
how many yards of sand did you get?
You can't go by what I used because my ground was on a slope and I had to build it up about a foot on the back side.
@@papawsplace roger that thanks
You can use an online CY calculator to figure how many yards you will need as long as you know your average depth.
@@papawsplace i bought 132 yards and I will never have enough on this place its always good to have extra.
Then I would just get one dump truck load brought out because the free of delivery it's not worth not buying a whole load.
Ok so just jump on my tractor and get started
👍 Just get-r-done
Sand is not used to level the pool. Sand is for pool base and cove. Level is achieved by digging the ground level. Totally done wrong. Read your instructions with your pool. To be fair, I have done small pools like this that did not fail. You must know that the sand will compact and wash out. Your pool wall may fail then .
Thank for your concern / comment, but I chose to do it this way. It's been holding up very well for 2 years now. Thanks again and God Bless.
Ya poor boys always have air stream campers & 4wd tractors ...lol poor little rich boy. offensive at best.
🤔
Not trying to be a Debbie downer. It's going to settle, it's not if it's just when. You never put the load of a pool on sand.
Been their two years and still doing well. Hoping for the best.
So, first thing I have to do is go buy a tractor.
If you don't want to use that rake and shovel. LOL
What kind of sand did you use?
Just sand from the local dirt pit. River Sand some call it.
What kind of sand did you use?
Common Pit Sand from local sand pit.
How much did you add here?
