- Amish Bulk Grocery Haul | Whispering Pines Country Store
We've hauled home many supplies from Whispering Pines Country Store during out trips to our off-grid cabin. We've shared a few of those hauls with you guys after the fact, but we've never really taken you inside the store before. So in today's video, let's go shopping! The store was very loud during this trip, so we apologize for the poor audio ♥ Todd & Rachel

Oh man you showed such restraint lol, I'd have needed a Uhaul. And yes to pickled garlic! It's delicious and makes wonderful gifts. You'll love it! It's good to eat as a side and you can use it in salads too.
I’ve been buying those lids in bulk from the Amish for years. Best lids I even used. The seal is very thick & pliable. Haven’t lost a seal that wasn’t my fault, like a chipped jar.
At :05 one of the buildings to the very left of the screen is an Amish leather shop. It has a great selection of leather goods.
Living my best life, (vicariously 😆), through Rachel's shopping trip! GET! ALL! THE! THINGS! 💜💜💜
She's been in there so much she asks, "Gee, what is it I don't have already?"
I love Whispering Pines! Definitely miss the huge sleeves of canning lids they used to have, but it is super nice that they still offer bulk lids.
I’m blessed to have an Amish store just like this about 15 miles from my home. Love it so much! ❤️
There’s another up in that area called brookside Amish discount store. We love this place!
I just went to an Amish store. It’s mostly overstock or older items but I got amazing deals and the owner is so nice.
I laughed SO hard ....Rachel heaving the 50 lb bags around while Todd films holding the 8 oz camera. Hahahahaha.
I was thinking “ Todd, please help her!”😂
Todd wasn't have a good day with his back, so Rachel did the lifting. We're a team like that ♥
@@1870s that makes sense. I know Todd is super helpful so there must have been a reason he wasn’t lifting those bags.
@@1870s I just found it funny. Not pointing fingers at all.
😂😂😂😂😂❤
Whispering pines is my favorite Amish store to go to.. the ladies are very nice and helpful!
That salt purchase was great. I checked an on line bulk pantry site and the same Morton Seasalt is $62.95. Give yourself a pat on the back 👏🏽
I just looked too it is $93 at my local Walmart
WOW this is a BIG place!!
Ahh, Uncle Wiggly game, I inherited an Uncle Wiggly book that originally my grandmother’s, then my dad, myself, now my daughter has it to read to my grandson. I used to do different voices for the characters.
I love shopping at Amish shops, used to live near one when I lived in central Pennsylvania. Used to visit the Amish farm market shops and buy their cakes, pies, breads and rolls. Sooo good!
Thank you for taking me with you and bringing back memories.
Love going shopping with you folks. Thanks for the vids you're posting now. I find them fabulous.
My bucket list includes a trip to an Amish store. Sadly, there are none here in New England. I told my guy if we are ever in an area that has one we are staying long enough to go shopping!!!! We were in Pennsylvania last year but the stores were all closed on our only free day. I was SO sad. We just didn't plan things well enough. I know better for next time. Thanks for giving me a glimpse of it!!!!
I was petrified you were going to split those paper sacks trying to get them in the back of your truck! Great haul. :)
Me too, I actually think I saw rice coming out?
I was thinking the same!
SAME
i was wondering why the hubby was not lifting those in for her
I remember years and years ago when this store was teeny tiny!!! I'm glad to see they have grown so much!!!
Michigan is a Beautiful State. I love living here.. thanks for sharing. Dover Ohio is a wonderful place to visit also. WoW! People like grocery hauls.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful video. I wish we had an Amish store near us.
I love it! Feels like home to me ❤ I was a Yoder before I married and I was born and raised in the heart of Amish country, Lancaster county PA. When I lived briefly in MO, I would go into the only Amish store in the area just to get that feel of home. I agree all the bulk goods can't be beat. I find the stores even have a very familiar smell from all the bulk spices they carry. Thanks for bringing me home😊❤
My husband watched with me this morning. He’s often commented that we must be long lost sisters. Me being the very much older one. We live in the heart of Amish country in PA so bulk food stores are our grocery stores most of the time. It’s interesting to see some familiar products. Snavely Mills flour, Zimmerman’s peanut butter and Golden Barrel syrups are all from our backyard.
I love finding a good buy, stocking up on the bulk foods and dreaming of those beautiful stainless steel bowls. Life is good.
I'm in Canada, in Manitoba, I have never been to an Amish bulk store, as far as I know, we dont have them. I would love to look around in there.
What a nice mother sharing with daughters.
I'm a bowl woman too, but like you, I just touch them and go on. 😂 I feel like I have enough until the next time I don't have the size I need or enough of the size I need. Same with many things. I love this video! I need to make a trek to ours. ❤ Thank you Rachel!
Our closest is about an hour away. It’s Mennonite. I love going with the ladies. This is a day out for us. There are great prices.
The quick way to get price per pound on a fifty pound bag is to double it (100 pounds) then you just divide by 100, or what I do just move the decimal point two places. So $37 x 2 = $74 or 74¢ a pound.
Thanks for sharing your shopping experience with us , I love Amish Stores .
What a fantastic shop I wish we had them here!
We have this type of store here in Colorado. I know when we go back to Lancaster PA they have bigger stores like this. Love them.
Rachel, I love shopping at the Amish market in Scottville, MI. I really like the dehydrated potatoes, very delicious in scallop potatoes and soups. Two years ago when I couldn’t get yeast anywhere the market had it.
Thank you for taking us to the Amish store with you both! It was fun!
Thanks for taking us along. Your faith in those 50lb bags to withstand your handling was tremendous and a bit stressful. Glad it went well though. That looks like a wonderful store.
Love seeing your grocery haul from the Amish store, wish we had such stores in Great Britain. Sea salt is usually much cheaper than Himalayan salt so there isn’t a direct price comparison. PS beware sea salt can contain micro-plastics too.
Agreed. That is a false comparison.
I love sea salt, but it has no iodine in it. It wasn’t until I got so low in my metabolism that I looked into my diet and realized I had no iodine intake at all, even processed foods now use sea salt instead of iodized salt. When I went back to iodized salt it helped noticeably, so now I take a kelp supplement made in Oregon. It makes a huge difference. Just something to consider if you don’t eat as well as the 1870’s homestead probably does. 🙂
With canning you don't want iodine in the salt. It can cause color changes in the food. Just make sure your table salt has iodine.
Just a small bit of information for you about buying some Kombu seaweed. I break off a small piece (1 inch by 2 inches) and break that into tiny bits, then add them to any vegetables or even Italian sauce that is cooked or even just heated for a little while. It dissolves, and leaves no flavor. I put it in all my home-made soups. And there you get all the good trace minerals!
I went down a big iodine rabbit hole. Table salt is trash, I take an iodine supplement and use high-quality sea salt, or Himalayan salt ♥️♥️
Epic haul and deals!😮💞 Loved finally getting to see that store!! Thanks for taking us along, guys! ☺💗
Loved the tour of Whispering Pines. I live 16 miles from them and go past every day to work at the hospital. I have shopped there often for many years. It's one of my favorite places to shop. I am just learning the canning process so we can be more self-sufficient (better late in life than never)! I enjoy your channel very much.
Thanks for bringing us along
I love that store too. I just told my husband yesterday that we need to go back again!
Happy birthday Rachel
I was so hoping for an Amish store haul after watching the cabin video. 😍
I always get my seasonings and butter from there. ❤ My sister is addicted to their bread! I drive for the Whispering Pines family and also the Brookside discount store family. Both very nice families!
What a wholesome video. Thank you.
Happy Birthday reminds me of the up-north I know, it’s so beautiful, now I want to can bacon!
My place was Dutchway in PA...I miss that. But, not enough to move back!
1 mile from my family home. ❤. Enjoy lots of fun!
That store reminds me of the one that is about 40 minutes away for us. That was a great deal on the salt. It was too good to pass up, no matter how much you have at home. You know you will use it. I love the spice isle also! It's my favorite.
Ammish store always a good ride 🏍️
I pickled garlic a couple of years ago with a boat load of garlic that year. It was wonderful. It actually tastes a little sweet after. It is yummy.
Thanks for taking us along on your shopping trip. Couldn't quite see what they had because the camera was too fast and didn't focus on labels. I guess I'll just have to take a trip to Freemont and find out for myself. I love those big logs of butter and used to get them when I went to Eastern Market but it's such a hassle getting there (always construction on I75).
I love this store!!! Heading over Tuesday.
My adrenaline is through the roof when I get in there
I LOVE this store. I live not to far from it and shop there frequently.
Whenever you mention the Amish store, I always expected a tiny little store, this one is large.
Wish we had one near us
That was fun! Thanks for taking us along! 😀
Wheat Montana flour! I’m so impressed. It’s our local favorite.
Awesome haul! I love shopping at the Amish stores! ♥️
Literally my favorite part of the Amish store is the spices. They have the most flavorful cinnamon and we used up all of ours. We need to go back soon but they are all far away from us.
You talk about that store so much.. great to see it
My go to store for spices. The store is always so clean. When I get more freezer space, I am going to buy bigger bags of flour. Live within 5 miles of store. There is another Amish store in town, but like this one the best.
I so miss the Amish we don’t have this luxury out west. My mom shops at this store. Thanks for sharing.
I love this store!❤
I love Whispering Pines! I was actually going to stop in there today but didn't make it 😢
We love that store in Fremont that you both told us about ♥️♥️
Ssshhhhh… you are giving away my favorite Amish store. 😂😂😂. Great job shopping.
All that cheese looks amazing ! Love all the bowls.
There are lovely Amish stores where we used to live in Mio, Michigan. A bulk store, feed store, bakeries, creamery, lumber yard/home improvement store, rustic furniture store, fine furniture store, fabric, and general/hardware store. Miss living in that area but making a trip down there soon.
Thanks for sharing the bulk food store. We live close to Amish country and get carried away in their stores but so nice to go in. Safe travels back home...Mrs.Steve
Thanks for shopping in Newaygo County. Both Fremont and Newaygo stores offer so much. And they are very nice people. Clean stores.
Oh man how I'd love to be there shopping right beside you, I love amish grocery stores. They got a little bit of everything. 😊 great video
Love your videos! One of the 1st videos I watched was when you went to the Amish store!
I visit the Mennonite store in Snover, Mi. Always have to go to their restaurant too. Yum!
Love this store! Only an hour away from me. Thanks for sharing!
I was just over there few hours ago . ❤ there lemon puff long John are so good we’ll their baked foods are wonderful
I love the pickled garlic we got at an Amish store in Iowa. It gave me a why to process garlic in my next harvest.
When I was a kid I remember a grain bag splitting when it was plopped down hard. It was a hassle to clean up and most was lost. Just saying that I'm as gentle as I can be with sacks now.
I kept thinking "Rachel's going to need a bigger cart!" 😂 Thanks for showing us, it's nice you had the aisles pretty much to yourselves (of course you were being careful not to film other customers). At our Amish store (in Clare, MI) I've never been in that it wasn't busy and had to navigate people.
What is the name of the Amish store in Clare mi.?
I love that store! Go there often! They have amazing donuts!
I remember playing Uncle Wiggly at my grandma’s house when I was a child.
That store is awesome!!!
I love that Amish store..❤️
Awesome tour of the Amish store. ☺️
I wish I could visit this store! We have a similar one in Atlanta, The Dekalb Farmers Market, but I always love visiting interesting new grocery stores.
I would love to explore that seasoning aisle!
They are wonderful! Their cardamom is astronomical though. A couple weeks ago it $27 for 1/4 pound of it.
I will definitely have to visit this place!
I miss living near an Amish Bulk Store!
Uncle Wiggley game is The Best! My grandma had it and all the cousins LOVED playing it (especially if one of us got the privilege of spending the night with her and playing it just the two of us!) I'll have to check that store out the next time we go to Newago. You forgot to put your chocolate chips in the cooler! Hopefully they did not melt.
love💞 those stores..the mixing bowls are the best..that olive oil comes from my home town her in 🇨🇦 you will like it.
What an awesome store! Sure wish we had these in Canada 🇨🇦.
I think they're more common in ontario?
They used to have similar ones in Kitchener Waterloo, I imagine they still do. There was also the markets.
This store is 5 min from my house. One of my favorite grocery spots
Love this !!!ty for sharing we don't have any Amish stores that I'm aware of in Northeastern Mass
I get that same pickled garlic and I LOVE it I just eat some cloves out if the jar for a quick snack ..love love
my sister and I love to go to our Amish store near Centreville. It's more in the country, there is a more modern store in Centreville but I have not been there. Miller's is the name of the one we go to. Love the bulk, they have things regular groceries don't carry, and really good baked goods, 😍
That place looks just like our Mennonite store here in west TN. Same packaging, same stickers, same set up, lol.
I think they all order from the same place 🤣
I love going in there but I have to watch the prices, ALOT of it may be bulk but not the best prices or ingredients!
ALOT of people have to remember (IMO) that just because it's in there, it won't always be a better price, it won't necessarily be better for you, etc.
You have to hunt and know your stuff!
Thanks so much for sharing the store with us! I love going in there and looking. It's so simple, not all the pretty packaging and marketing that can blind you! ❤
I did some amish shopping today too! Got some spices some kitchen tools and some plants in 2 stops!
You can't compare the price of Morton's sea salt with Himalayan pink salt. It's not the same thing. Not a fair comparison. But, still probably cheaper in big 50 lb bags.
I agree, they are very different in mineral content.
We bought Morton salt recently to tan a cow hide. Other than that, I never use Morton salt since the day I read on the container that it had salt and sugar.
@@NashRamblerYou don’t eat sugar?
@@NashRambler the sugar is to keep it iodized
That's a great store! Fellow Michigander :)
Love that area of the state and will definitely plan to check out this market the next time I’m over there! We love grabbing some of that Furgasons chicken when we roll through though! Haha!!!
Love the Amish.
We love Country View Bulk foods in the thumb
I love this store!! I didn’t know you live in Michigan ♥️
