Here is another Hour Magazine cast reunion, this time with the cast of "Our Miss Brooks," including Eve Arden and Richard Crenna (both long gone!) Taped in 1985.
Eve Arden was a one of a kind actress with her quick sassy come back humor lines. She and the rest of the cast made the show a big hit when comedy was genuine compared to today's weak attempts to deliver comedy shows.
I loved Our Miss Brooks as a kid. I was born in 1951 and I guess I was probably watching re runs and didn't know it. It was a great show and so funny and I loved Richard Crenna as Walter Denton.
Big fan of the entire cast, especially these two...especially Eve Arden. Listened to that show on radio when I was a baby and toddler, then watched it on tv throughout its run. The voices of these two actors (as well as Gale Gordon's) are archetypes in my life since they were among the first sounds I heard repeatedly--ha, for better or worse---at such a young age. The shows were so very charming in their silliness and lovable goofballs...and Eve Arden had that unforgettable voice and blase attitude unlike any other actor or actress. What a pleasant surprise to see this "reunion".
Richard Crenna was known as Dick Crenna back in the day. My favorite show. Eve Arden was kinda of like Groucho Marx. Gail Gordon was the cantankerous high school principal.
Frank Denardo ; I find myself watching the old re runs of Our Miss Brooks still today. That was good, clean, family friendly TV not like the trash out there today.
Crenna was a big drinker, he wouldn’t let Eve take center s5age like any alcoholic, grabbing all the grandiose attention. Eve being a lady sat quietly.
TRIVIA : She is Woody Allen's favorite actress. He asked her to play Hannah's mother in "Hannah and her Sisters". But her husband was very ill and she could not leave his side.
If they blindfolded you and only heard Eve Arden' s voice only.....you would know it was her. ❤Eve.
I loved both these actors. Nobody could deliver a wisecrack like Eve.
An original. Ms. Arden was solid gold.
@@SM-gl8yo She sure was.
I'm aure Jane Morgan who played Connie Brooks's landlady had passed away by this time, but she was a real hoot, a really great character.
Eve Arden was EXCELLENT in "Our Miss Brooks"

Our Miss Brooks......legend.
I love the way she talks. So sophisticated and classy.
But with a sense of humor.
AND w a sense of humour. Think also of Julie Andrews.
As a little boy I had a crush on her… THAT VOICE.
As a little girl, so did I. ❤
My favorite character was Minerva.
Crenna was great as Luke McCoy
Yes, after playing teen Walter Denton on Our Miss Brooks, he played Luke McCoy on The Real McCoys.
Wow! I never knew they were on radio first. Eve Arden is one of my favourite extras in the classic movies of the 40's and 50's 😊.
our miss brooks the radio show was hilarious! gayle gordon as mr. conklin was stellar.

I wonder how they would have handled the Mr. Boynton character today?
“God didn’t make Rambo, I made him”.
Colonel Troutman!

I thought I was the only one who picked that up....I was thinking Crenna let Eve speak.
Not to knock Eve , I love her but ...what is with the dry cooked hair , Nehru jacket and BIG chunky gold thing around her neck !
TRIVIA : She is Woody Allen's favorite actress. He asked her to play Hannah's mother in "Hannah and her Sisters". But her husband was very ill and she could not leave his side.
Glad you held back and didn’t knock Eve.
