    If you find a vast, bountiful, vital, or instrumental that is previously untouched you can warp to the cloud and move 260-270km from the warp in point and create a book mark called "gas spot" warp out to any other location and warp back to gas spot saving a gas perch on your way back in. (This all done in a cloaky scan ship btw) warp to the perch and cloak up to remain hidden while you wait for rats to spawn.
    Bring back the huffer once the rats are on grid. Sit at zero on the gas spot and huff in peace. As long as you warp off as soon as you see combats you can never be blown up. If anyone scans the site and tries to warp in they will warp into the rats and have to leave. They have to use combats to get a direct warp in and if you are like me, they wont complete the scan before youve warped off thanks to dcan. I huff with two prospect that have syndicate gas scoops and have had a bunch of people try to get the drop on me with no luck.
    With this technique you can have a porpoise join in with boosts and compression when you are full.
    Dont stay in siege mode though. Always watch for combat probes and be ready to leave.
    Happy huffing!

      The rats spawn at the warp in spot. It's the spot that has the red square denoting the anomaly and is also where your bookmark goes when you book mark the anomaly from your probe window.
      The clouds are so big that you can be 270km or more from the warp in spot and still be at 0 on the cloud.

  • @couerl
    @couerl Před 10 měsíci +6

    It's also worth mentioning that gas harvesters in a barge will suck up gas twice as fast and hold twice as much as a venture/prospect and while the Coveter gets the best bonus, it also has the smallest hold and so you need a porpoise to compress and store gas for them. This is great if you're in a group, but if you want to go solo, a Retriever is the way to go. One load of gas will pay for a barge, roughly 60 mil in 30 mins depending on gas type, so if you get jumped once every four or five times out, you're still making more than a prospect and providing content to wormholers who like to hunt. If you put a mobile depot in a Ret with a probe scanner and cloak or scout in advance with heron, you can be in and out with twice the gas in the same amount of time. There are a lot of empty wormholes 2-3 jumps from High Sec in the game where you can tuck yourself away and make pretty good isk and be reasonably safe.

    lol after losing a few prospects to pirates I've resorted to running this (almost exact) cheapest venture fit, except I am using scoops 2. What I do is find a remote low pop system where I set up my camp. I send in a venture, find a wh there and find gas site, mine it until npcs spawn, then jump in my cruiser, kill npcs, then back with venture and afk mine until full or gas site is empty. Being a such a cheap fit (around 14 mil with scoops 2) it pays for itself many times over before something kills it. Also I can't be bothered with D-Scanning all the time and staring at asteroids for hours, so I just run game in background.
    Also maybe it's just luck but I've noticed pirates rarely care to waste time hunting my venture, but they are much more enticed to hunt down my expensive prospects.
    The other last suggestion I have is to still keep orbiting the gas cloud (reduce speed to make sure its under 1500m), that way when NPCs spawn they will be 90+km away instead of right on top of you like in this video and you have lots of time to react.

If you're going in a direction at 100% speed, you have a 100% speed arrow going in that direction. When you go to warp, that arrow needs to slow down, turn to within 5° of the destination and speed back up to at least 75%.
      If you're not going in a direction, the arrow is at zero and not pointing in any direction. When you hit "Warp To" from stationary, the arrow just starts to grow in the direction already. The actual ship graphics don't matter.

      @@captainbenzie That's great then. For me I make 5 to 6 mil per lvl4 Security mission. It can take 30 to 45 min to finish the mission and salvage.
      On the other hand it take 10 to 20 min to finish and salvage a lvl 3 mission making 2 to 3 million. I can do those with an Alpha and all T1 mods.
      These are 100% safe and I am not counting the LP, rating increase and storyline missions.

    I didn't catch you mentioning Ordinary gas sites, they have the sentry towers already spawned that can easily alpha a venture. You focus very much on solo play which Eve is not suitable for, if there are more than one of you, you fleet up, the person in squad command at 15 minutes start to sit ready to do a fleet warp out, the others continue to spam their d-scans for hostile players.

      @@Silvervulff69 yup, it's okay. But to compare, I've taken 5-6 corp mates huffing with me and they all gave me 10% of their gas haul as a finders fee, or you're one of the 5-6 who gets the benefit of someone else finding the gas sites, making bookmarks etc.

      I'm showcasing what's possible as solo, simply to showcase how it's done, whilst also driving folks to move with corporations. It's not always possible to have friends online.
      That said, again, the video is mainly just showing "How to do the thing", I'm not suggesting people do it solo, just showcasing how it works 😉
      Personally I prefer to bring friends to shoot the rats. They get blue loot, I get gas. Failing that, I Jedi Huff in a Prospect mostly.

    • @captainbenzie
      @captainbenzie Před rokem +2

      This is wrong. Utterly wrong.
      To warp, two things must happen:
      1) You must be aligned with 5° of the target.
      2) You must be moving at 75% of your maximum velocity, or faster.
      Ship facing doesn't matter, it's just graphics, what DOES matter is your ships velocity and velocity has a direction. If you are moving directly away from the destination, you must slow down, realign, and reaccelerate to 75% in the correct direction. If you are motionless, your velocity is zero and you accelerate at the exact same rate in ANY direction.
      The "Time to Warp" in the fitting screen is based on you being stationary.
      You will only instawarp if you are moving at 75% max velocity in the correct direction (facing within 5° of the target)
