  • Johnny appreciated have the author of this song, Squire Parsons, on stage to help him through this Kingsmen staple. Trust it's a blessing.

      Amen there’s nothing better than knowing many singers could have had successful careers filled with fame and fortune but instead choose to sing about Jesus. Better reward by far

    Oh, Hallelujah! Look for me, I'll be there too! O Glory be unto You Father and Our Blessed Lord Jesus Christ. So precious and Holy art thou. It's a joy to find them as I play and sing along, wiping tears and praising our glorious one. Precious Jesus! O Beulah Land I'm longing for you. There my home shall be eternal.
    If I leave this world of sorrow sometime before you do,
    Just look for me in heaven and we'll talk the ages thru;
    But if, at first, you fail to see me, let me tell you where I'll be,
    I'll be thanking Christ, my Savior, for saving a wretch like me.
    CHORUS
    Don't look 'neath the gates of pearl, don't look on the streets of gold,
    Don't look by the walls of jasper, nor among the many sights untold;
    For I've been longing and I've been waiting for the precius, holy One to meet,
    There I'll be thru the countless ages, look for me at Jesus' feet.
    But if you should reach that city before my time has come,
    Perhaps you'd like to greet me when my race down here is run;
    Just wait, for I'll soon be coming across life's ebbing sea,
    And I'll tell you now, my brother, just where to wait for me.
    CHORUS
    Don't wait 'neath the gates of pearl, don't wait on the streets of gold,
    Don't wait by the walls of jasper, nor among the many sites untold;
    For I've been longing and I've been waiting for the precious, holy One to meet,
    There I'll be thru the countless ages, wait for me at Jesus' feet.

    By the grace of God I'll be at Jesus' feet.
    Also, I'll be with my Daddy and Brother, James..Thank goodness my 83 year old Mama is still with me and my Son, Adam, and my precious granddaughter, Mandi. My husband, Doug, gives me great support during hard memories. I love you Johnny Parrack and Jim Hamill and of course, Mark Trammell.

    Johnny Parrack has such a great sense of humor and showmanship. His laugh is so cute, because I think he may have been embarrassed not remembering the words. But he really made up for it. He and the other Kingsmen are such a blessing............Gwen Weaver

    I just love when these guys have a gathering of old members, that's when you can find out so much about the quartet's history! That is Johnny Parrack singing tenor. Big Jim Hammell, walking around behind him and just to the left of Jim the tall dark haired man sitting @ 1:00, is Squire Parsons, and on the right side of the stage is Eldridge Fox and, then Mark Trammell with the Guitar and last Bass singer Ray Dean Reese! Johnny introduces Anthony Burger on Piano.

    yes that's Mark Trammell, from about 1978 to 1980 he traveled with the Kingsmen Quartet before joining the Cathedrals around 1980, he was with them when even Squire Parsons traveled with them. Later with Greater Vision, Gold City, Mark Trammell Trio, Quartet, the Senators with Jim Hamill before the Kingsmen, also with the Florida Boys, and Tim Riley's other quartet before Gold City, the Southmen, yes that's Mark Trammell at the Kingsmen Quartet Reunion, once more of a musician than a singer.

      It’s unfair to compare this concert rendition to Gary’s, because Gary was still with the group and rehearsing regularly in preparation for upcoming events, whereas in this case Johnny Parrack hadn’t sung this song for over twenty years! and having to come in that morning with all the former members and have a limited time to rehearse all those songs! he missed a couple of lines in this one but he did an amazing job all round. give him his flowers 💐
      And yes, Gary’s rendition was great also…
