    I bought a regular toothbrush from Dollar Tree and use that to remove the fuzz on back of leaves. Works great. I also wash the leaves first, gently pat them dry and then start brushing fuzz off. Comes off easily and fast with the tooth brush and with the leaf being wet.

    My tea always comes out a gold color, never that redish brown tone. Know why?

      Could be the difference in older and younger leaves or variety of the loquat tree

    I gave this a try a few days ago and was so surprised by how simple yet delicious the tea is! My family has had a loquat tree in our backyard for years, I wish I had found this video earlier--thank you so much for sharing this!

    Are you supposed to use the old leaves or young leaves? I’ve heard both so I’m confused!

    • @999KTDY
      @999KTDY  Před 4 lety +1

      I use both. The very young leaves are delicate and tear easier when you are trying to clean them, and the older leaves tend to be brittle. I find the middle-aged leaves to be easiest to work with.

    How can I , a peasant, get myself a honey jar with the whole bee home inside? lol where I live you can get a 1 litter of honey for cheap...BUT it's most likely mixed with corn syrup :/

    • @999KTDY
      @999KTDY  Před 4 lety +2

      Look for beehives in your area - they are white boxes, usually located away from structures but near trees. Ask the property owner if you can get a jar the next time they harvest the honey - he or she will probably sell you some!

    Young leaves should not be used as they contain cyanide components...take old leaves and dry them & then you make tea...🙏

    • @ChristopherEPineda
      @ChristopherEPineda Před 4 lety +1

      Maybe the cyanide is on the fuzz and that’s why it needs to be removed?

    • @ChristopherEPineda
      @ChristopherEPineda Před 4 lety +2

      Yeah just researched it, the young leaves of stone fruits have cyanide... but it’s less in loquats, so there’s a potential for poisoning. 😫

      @@ChristopherEPineda the fuzz on back of leaves are removed because it is said they can irritate the throat.

    Is this tea helpful for people with diabetes?

      I haven't done research on the validity of the claims made by those who drink the tea. I just like it, and I love the idea I can do it myself.

    • @999KTDY
      @999KTDY  Před 4 lety +2

      The tea is good to drink. Whether it provides health benefits, well, I think that the jury is still out on that one.

      I know Im late but some peoples municipal water is Faaaar cleaner than stuf found in bottles. Some is far dirtier. Depends where you live.

      We got about three boil notices a few years back so we filter the drinking water. I distill a gallon a day for coffee, ice, some of our cooking and put it in our Berkey. People argue that distilling takes out the minerals. If you're eating fruit and veggies and whole foods including meat and eggs as well as vitamins I think you're okay to drink distilled. Besides we do get some municipal water at work and other places.
      In most cases it depends on the water district you live in and as long as Erin Brockovich hasn't visited your neighborhood talking about hexavalent chromium or some other chemical you should be fine. In our case three times in such a short time was too much because they don't sample every day meaning it could've have happened more frequently.
