Hi Colin, nice dutch oven. That's great that it comes with a lid lifter and the lid also works as a skillet. What a great idea! I have a couple of Lodge dutch camp ovens they are the nice ones here in the U.S. the ones with the legs they call Camp Dutch ovens. I had to buy my lid lifter and lid stand separately. Fortunately mine came pre-seasoned. I also got a recipe book with mine. Made some good chili on a camping trip a few years back using cubed pork instead of beef, it turned out awesome. Was surprised being that it was my first time trying it. You are going to love your dutch oven. Can't wait to see the gourmet camp food you'll be cooking in it!👍😁🏕

Not to many people import the Petromax Dutch ovens into the United States. But I'd like to get one and try it. I like the deep lid with the legs, and the vent / meat Thermometer hole on the side & lid.
Great dutch oven Chris, and they do several sizes as well as a multitude of other products 👍
We just know you're be maxing out that recipe book big man. I have been watching them on e-Bay with a view to purchase one. I do have other things to sort first though. Damper bread or Sourdough on the menu aye? I think I'd prefer a version you could remove the feet if you wanted. Have fun and enjoy Colin

Just got mine and going to use it on Halloween, but the instructions say to use neutral oil and not olive oil as olive oil as it won’t reach a high temperature? What’s your experience with oils?
All cooking oils can be used, vegetable oil or canola oil is the best as they have a high smoke point.👍🔥👌

Olive oil ain’t any good for seasoning. It burns at a too lower temp.
The petromax stuff comes pre-seasoned and all it needs is a rinse with hot water before first use. Certainly wouldn’t do it any harm tho.
