The pace of standard slow foxtrot has been 28 BPM since the 1950's, which provides ample time for elegant smooth rise and fall motions, and the strenuous hold at the peak (i,e, More by Nat King Cole). However, the recent slow foxtrot music is leaning to the 30-32 BPM American Smooth foxtrot, which causes rapid rise and fall with small amplitude, but wider sways of the upper body to amplify the 3-dimensional movements. Such as songs of this collection all played at 30-31 BPM.
The real slow foxtrot is very elegant while the new faster foxtrot is more dynamic in motion.

America Foxtrot temple ruined the Foxtrot.
@@karalruves229 This song is a fast 32+ BPM, fast American foxtrot, not suitable for international standard slow foxtrot dance. The American foxtrot allows separate individual movements, i.e. spin, turn, etc. even lifts. It encourage individual faster movements rather than uniform two-in-one real foxtrot.

Well these are popular songs that people enjoy hearing but the Foxtrot is the most elegant of the ballroom dances and although all these are danceable in terms of tempo I can think of much better music to entice a dancer to get up from their chair and take to the floor.

An enjoyable collection with many songs I love, but, OMG.... who did that version of 'Vincent' at the end?? It sounds fine, actually, so long as you don't listen to the words....they are at total odds with the happy-go-lucky mood of the music for the most part! Perhaps that artist could do a 'Bubble-Gum' version of Chopin's 'Funeral March'? :-P ;-)
