Today I am in Stonehaven in Scotland's north east. It might be November, but I'm still up for the odd overnighter in the van! Parking down by the harbour in a free spot with no signs to discourage me, it turned out to be the perfect place - quiet, toilet block nearby, the sound of the sea, a great little coffee shop, and a short walk to a spectacular castle. What more could I need? Well how's about something deep fried...

Damn every time you show a place in Scotland, makes me want to go to my closed travel agent & book a flight to a place I can’t go. My father was a fighter pilot in 1944. He use to fly (training) in Scotland. He loved the flying side . What used to bring a grin to his face was St Andrews Golf Course. He & a couple of others buzzed it one day, he said golfers were going everywhere. Just made him smile.
He just loved the country though which I have inherited. You can keep tourist traps. A walk down the Royal mile is my definition of being a tourist . I love your blogs Steve. Parts of London are special to me too particularly St James Park.
Oh yes Red Headed Women, I was in heaven in Scotland. My dad married one from London ( my Mum obviously ).
The town in the film “Local Hero” wasnt that on the East Coast.
I live in a beautiful place too. A friend went on a week holiday on what we call the Surf Coast in Victoria , it’s cold water here comes up from the Southern Ocean, but has some of the most amazing surf beaches anywhere. We have no virus here 0 cases for basically 4 months.Beautiful country lots of Bush.but lacks the history of Scotland.

I have become addicted to your travel videos of Scotland. I 'm almost to the point where I can understand a little of what you're saying. lol Seriously, it is my dream to let a house there in Stonehaven for about six months and do some writing while looking out the window at the sea. I have two Scottish terriers that would feel quite at home there, I'm sure. Instead, as an old retired woman, I'm landlocked here in north Georgia, US, but your videos have been great company! Yes, I must admit it's my dream to live in Stonehaven too, it really is a wonderful place and that whole area has been home to very many artists and authors so there must be a creative magic about the place. And for sure your terriers would love it too, but they already go there in their dreams every night :) I have passed through Georgia many times driving between Florida and Charleston SC, and have always enjoyed a wee stop in Savannah, although I would love to spend more time in your wonderful state in future, that's for sure! Square sausage and Haggis (which is quite close to Polish Kaszanka) are the outer limits of my Scottish culinary explorations! A really stunning video. Something wonderfull and cheerful to watch on another wet and windy day here in Devon. I am also going to have to do a mercy dash up to Linconshire where my elderly parents live all alone with no help. They are well and truely locked into their homes. But, its a long way for me from Devon. Thank you for your beautiful video to help cheer the many folkes out there. I did try to get my parents to move in with me down here on the edge of Dartmoor where it is relatively low, but they are refusing to leave their home.

This was one of the little towns we visited on our trip to Scotland. We had spent the day exploring Dunnottar and it was time for food, so we went into the town. It was summer and the harbor was full of colorful boats that were anchored to the beach area. When the tide was out they were all beached. I have a lovely canvas print I made from a photo of that scene. We had dinner at the Marine Hotel right along the harbor and the food was delicious. For dessert we walked to E Giulianotti for some sweets and Scottish treats to take home. I would definitely go back for another visit.

I had a deep fried Mars Bar at a Highland Games just for giggles some years back. It was okay, not as cloying as I was braced for. I'm not allowed to eat stuff like that, anymore or at least not without taking a penalty shot. I'm a old guy who wants to get a bit older.

Well, my mouth was watering for a moment. I'd pass. Trying to cut back on chocolate. Not sure if you review comments on these older video's, bring shelled walnuts and toss a few into the oatmeal.
