Synopsis:
The TV drama is adapted from the Thai author Ms. Pitchaya Turdkwanchai's novel "Samee Ngern phon" (Translation: This Ordinary Man). It tells a story about a dominant female president Lu Fangning (played by Zhou Yutong), who is nearly 30 years old but has never had a fixed boyfriend. She believes: “Being rich and earning money are priorities." She was determined to develop a new home furnishing brand in the company, but she was required to get married and have children before getting a chance. the scene of the family in the hospital was so heart breaking. Ling Rui is trying to bottle down all the emotions that he has been carrying over 6 years, just cuz he understands her reasoning doesn't meant it doesn't hurt him

Both of them are *equally* hurt anyways... And I actually like how both of them are sensible and mature enough to understand this... Not like in some dramas where they are separated for 5 years and then meet after 6 years, and keep avoiding each other and then in the 7th year, either the hero or the heroine goes like " You can't understand what I've gone through all these years..." I've always hated on this statement... It feels like you are just imposing your pain on the other party...
@@ToTheDark_ everyone has different coping mechanism. The trust to understand each other would make the maturity for the couple, and it was not easy to reach that stage.
In this drama, she got hurt and suffered more. He could easily enjoyed his life, still got his money and advanced career, get drunk when sad. Compared to the male lead character's effort in "you are my destiny", the ml in this drama was still too selfish.

I can't agree on this part... He lost his love and was equally hurt too. He knew that she left for his own good, but couldn't cope with heaviness in his emotions, and wanted to scold her real much( This type of feelings are an "of course" in these cases.) Plus, there was not even a clue for where she could have gone. Of course, before she left, she left the divorce papers along with his documents for the German institution, by which he got to know the reason why she had left, and he went on to purse his career so that their separation doesn't go in vain. Also, he can't be compared to Wang Xiyi, because Xiyi had the resources to find Chen Jiaxin out and they met because of those business purposes too, but what did Ling Rui have? So definitely, making money was not an enjoyable aspect of his life, but was still about being capable enough to find Fangning once again...
So I think it's all based on feelings, buried deep inside the heart, which couldn't be shown or spoken out...

I saw your other comments and i'm just really happy bc you noticed all the littles details and you pointed out the fact that he could have easily contacted her if he really wanted to but he didn't do a shit and instead blame the FL for every single thing as if she didn't have enough struggles...+ she really did a good job at raising yoyo 😌

Really like how the characters are reasonable and sensible in this show and not over the top dramatic like most Chinese shows, which is really unnecessary. Yo-yo is such a dear, and his efforts to Mend papa and mama’s relationship is so precious! Rooting for the happy family!
No one should blame any party, they made the decision they thought was best for the other party and they did a damn good job at the route they chose only to be directed back at each other!! I LOVE THIS production so much!

But he let her bowed like that...I just pitied her as yet he tried to manipulate her to his wish. Though I am glad that he got the clairvoyance ability and did not push the fight of Yoyo custody and understood her in more pleasant way later.

I read many comments blaming lu fanning for running away 6 years ago and said that LR should fight for Yo yo custody.
I agree that she didn't make the bestest decision at the time and she's wrong to made decision for LR and hide the fact that they had a child together.
But you cannot belittle her struggling to raise Yo yo as a single parent, and i think she did a pretty good job to raise Yo yo.
In minutes 12:49 we can see how much she love Yo yo, that she monitor his temperature everyday even when he's not sick.

Exactly, even though she made the wrong decision, her intentions weren't bad. She did what she thought was the best at that point. Her sister's death traumatized her too much, she thinks her sister wouldn't have died if she didn't hold her back at that time. She just doesn't want to hold another person back. And that's exactly what was happening, Ling Rui was abandoning his dream for her. Let's not forget that after her sister's death, she basically lived the life her sister would've, and tried her best to fulfil her dreams.
She used to be such a proud person but when she realized that Yoyo really wants his father, loves him already and needs him in his life. She set aside her pride and dignity and not just sincerely apologized but also bowed to him.
Of course, Ling Rui also suffered much despite all that stayed loyal to her.
All I can say is that fate messed with them and it was all a test for their love.
