Taeyong is the most sweetest and caring leader I ever seen , like even though he just met YangYang , Xiaojun , Hendery for a few times back in 2018 - 2019 , Sungchan and Shotaro for the first time in 2020 , he just take care them like his own child. agreed! that moment was too short in this video.. there are a lot more to appreciate to show how deeply they care for each other - with Xiaojun trying to cheer Hendery, and all of WayV members who are watching from control room looked visibly worried, particularly when Hendery knocked the door with his foot and shouted "let me OUT!" - not one of them laughing at Hendery and Lucas's struggle with frogs - usually among boys they could have easily been laughed at as coward and drama queens - even the editor of the show put a slap effect on lucas face and editing this scene as funny moments - and of course YangYang and Ten's heroic moments to save their brothers and Ten's commentary

My blood boils every time i think about it!! Honestly, the whole reality has a lot of mean parts for the boys. There're a lot of other ways to make them bond, it really is just mean.
I honestly do think it truely was a really bad misunderstanding though. The whole facing your fears head on is a way to overcome them and it's something other reality/variety shows have used as challenges over the years. The problem was, I don't think the staff knew the Hendery had an actual phobia and not a "fear" like Lucas had. The boys were probably asked what are you afraid of during the production stage of the show and Hendery likely mentioned Frogs and the producers saw both Hendery and Lucas mentioned the same fear, they planed their challenge around that. Of course, Hendery being a new celebrity at the time, it wasn't like there was known information floating around that he had a phobia of Frogs, which shouldn't be thrown in head on. Also, I don’t know if there is a specific word/phrase in Mandarin between “fear/afraid of” vs “phobia” (I do speak Mandarin but I don’t know off the top of my head). It sucks that it happened but in the end they did compromise and let him leave without being forced to finish the challenge. I know fans get upset when their favorite idols get put in positions like their fear in front of them, but honestly, facing a challenge like that is part of growing as a person. You will always be afraid if you don't ever try to overcome it, so personally, I don't see anything wrong with that as a "mission". Again, Hendery's situation was different and it shouldn't have happened but like I said, I do believe it was miscommunication between the line of "fear" vs "phobia".
I will say, what did bother me was the fact they still used that clip as a teaser/click bait more than once. And reuploaded it on to youtube a year later. Like I get that it shows the members' teamwork and care for one another, but it really shouldn't be showcased as a feature for the episode.

But when they actually entered the room and Hendery literally jumped and "parkoured" the walls so that his feet is off the ground. Then I only know that what he meant by afraid of frogs is "HECK NO gEt iT aWAy fRoM mE 😫😫😫!!!"
There's definitely a miscommunication between the production team and Hendery and I hope next time production teams should ask "is that your fear or phobia" to be more precise 😥
I think the planning of the mission might have been miscommunication like other people commented, but the worst part for me is that after seeing Hendery's reaction the staff wouldn't stop recording or let him get out of the room. There was a moment that I didn't include where Hendery was literally about to knock down the door and the staff wouldn't let him out. It was only when Ten and Yangyang came that Hendery left. You could see from him initial reaction that this was not just fear and they should have stopped what they were doing immediately!
Meanwhile, i was crying when i watched it. Because i am ranidaphobia (fear of frogs) too. I have mixed feeling - angry and pity for Hendery and Lucas. This is too much.

And also Mark bringing a big load of food for Jungwoo’s first day as Music Core MC, and made sure there was enough for everyone else as well, that’s what SKZ Lee Know said in his V Live after the show. And also during WayV’s Kick Back era, when they were promoting on Inkigayo during the interview MC Sungchan’s mic cut out and Kun made sure he was OK.
The frog room was seriously really cruel. Imagine your worst fears in front of you and you are forced to confront it. Lucas looks like he was scared of frogs but Hendery definitely has a phobia of them and that was not right at all. So happy that Ten and YangYang came in to replace Hendery. He got out of that room so quick and we didn’t see him again until they got back on the bus.

Lucas was with them him too and i remember how angry lucas looked and called out the staff that they're taking it too far. Seeing Hendery scared for his life, Ten got up from his chair and went inside. At that time i felt that they are true brothers forever💚

It's not easy to stay with people having different habits and thoughts but NCT is such beautiful grp that they really look after all the members even the new ones don't feel uncomfortable with them. They really love each other alot. Being a NCT stan is the best decision I've made 💚💚

As a baby czennie (almost a year old now ^^) I'm still stunned whenever anyone questions taeyong's leadership or the fact that he's the leader of 127 AND of NCT as a whole. As he said, he has 22 children and never misses an opportunity to take care of them. Kun and Mark are also fantastic, supportive, caring leaders
