I'm really curious to know the answer to this!! Its definitely a higher trumpet, not a C trumpet. But lots of the trills here are awkward on A picc (loads of Ab-Bb 2,3--1 combinations), and a Bb picc is going to invite lots of awkward intonation in D major. My guess would be he is using a G trumpet (and therefore playing in a comfortable F major) or possibly a D trumpet (so Bb major) but would love to know the answer!
