    On newer models, I’ve noticed on mine and others that have done this online, that the square on the box is not in the right position exactly. It makes the hose scrunch together a little bit when you install. I’ve seen this on in a couple other videos also. Yours is lined up perfect.

    • @BurnseysRT
      @BurnseysRT  Před 3 lety

      That would be ideal for sure bit it is light enough to be ok without one. Tightening a clamp in that space would be a little tedious but possible with a 3” screw driver.

    On my 2022 this install was pain. They actually modified the duct cap so a T10 screw was put on both sides to prevent you from taking it off. On top of that, I think the connection to the tube and air box is now directly from those 4 silver bolts instead of just the black clamp.

    Just Curious: But aside from the headlight/airbox connection tube for improved breathing, where does the top cut out get its air from? I don't see a clear access for the outside air to enter that area into the cutout and to the airbox. How would you compare this to the Hellcat airbox with open headlight access? Probably gonna get jumped all over here but, this mode + changing your oil over to AmsOil 0W40 full synthetic, which MOPAR just authorized dealerships to use, will drop your temps down by 14 to 18 + degrees, due to less friction, I just ordered the airflow tube, & will wait to visit temps once installed, but due yourselves & you’re Scats a big favor, switch to AmsOil, hell of a lot of research & it blows the competition out of the water, it was # 1 in the roller bearing test, which involved heat & friction, but hey, look up the test results, hot/cold it came on top, only drawbacks, very pricey oil.

      The passenger side cap can be removed to just add additional cooling to the engine compartment. And then the driver side can be removed to allow for cooling for a cold air intake like the once shown in this video. Could help other cold air intakes as well.

      That will be great. I have the scat pack with the shaker. I am looking into this. In your opinion would it make sense to try and seal off the top of the box so no hot air from the engine compartment gets in? To me it looks like the seal around the box does not make contact with the hood.

    • @BurnseysRT
      @BurnseysRT  Před 5 lety

      I would say do it 100% but I’ll do a video. I was thinking the same. It definitely does not seal to the hood (especially by the shaker side). There is a clear plexiglass cover you can buy. I think it la $120 maybe. But I was thinking of getting some 1” weather stripping and placing it on the bottom of the hood to seal it up. I tested the seal with some foil. I stacked it on the intake box to see if it would crumple. It didn’t on the shaker side.

      I have never had water issues. I always keep the headlight caps in my car Incase it’s a monsoon but under normal rain etc. I have not had problems. Angel Villegas you should be able to in some way. If you have a newer challenger and you can remove the headlight cap on the driver side you can do this. If you have a Mopar CAI I believe you can do this just like I did. I would check and make sure the air box is in the same location. If you have a stock air box you can purchase the lower half of the hellcat air box. It has a hole in the front that you can connect a tube to the hole where you remove the cap. It will probably run around $80-$100 for both pieces but it’s well worth it. Hope this helps.

      I have the Mopar CAI. If you have ate stock airbox below are the parts you’d want. Can find them cheaper but here are examples.

    You forgot to reattach the tube back onto the air cleaner filter.

      It’s funny you noticed. Yeah totally did forget while on camera. I did realize shortly after I shut it off. Fortunately I did realize before I started her up. Thanks for watching and dropping a comment. Appreciate it

    what performance gains?

      I would say you are not going to gain HP necessary but you will definitely maintain peak HP with it. You won’t get heat soak from the engine bay affecting the air intake temps. 100% worth the money.
