    I am worried that brutal shifting may be too hard on the drive train and cause damage down the road. I had a 2013 and 2104 that were stock except for canned tunes(93 pump gas) and they would dead hook on DRs but had that lag at the top and then shift so hard that they squealed 2nd and chirped 3rd on a fully prepped track. They shifted just like Zanders. But w/o the tune just like the Ruby red Mustang. It worried me so much that I might break something I removed the tunes and just lived with a slower car. Your cars have an aluminum differential housing and I would at least change that unless you already have. People are breaking the ears off it with slower cars than both of yours..

    You should race each other dig/roll to see who’s faster!
    Anyway years ago I had a reputable mustang tuner get salty when he found out I tried another tuning company just to see the difference. Dude was nuts! The douchebag immediately cut me off from his tuning services. He also contacted my new tuner (he knew them personally apparently) and made up lies about me to them, they dropped me too.
    Btw I picked up two 10ths in my 2014 auto gt from just a transmission tune no engine tune. Loaded the tune at the track to see the difference.
    I prefer to feel the hard shifts over the smooth shifts, much more satisfying feeling.

    From what I’ve seen Lund is better, a local guy here in SoCal has beaten every PBD and VMP 3rd gen coyote, he even has less bolt ons, he especially pulls them up top, something Lund seems to be better at than everyone else, less timing seems to be his trick. I could already tell the Lund car in this video is a lot more consistent, shifts on point, nothing too crazy, just making good power.

E85 on a Base '18 GT JLT cai, Pype's catless lt's, h pipe, MBRP axle back muffler delete, A10, RTR wheels 305 Nitto 05R's. Do a price comparison, Torrie will give you the choice of any 2 tunes you want just for buying the SCT BDX, I chose the E85 and 93 tunes. Also, Unleashed will data log all your tunes for free, as long as you want, with no time limit (neither Lund or PBD offer that, plus you pay for to get their flex fuel tunes, a lot more) I've heard issues with both Lund and PBD as far as people not liking the hesitation and the harsh/or lack of harsh shifts. I'll stick with my tuner, he really is the best. I expect to see high 10's after the new driveshaft WITHOUT pulling any weight off the car (meaning all seats intact). And for the record, Alex Flores acts like a sugared up 10 year old in his videos, so who cares what he thinks...

      It took some dialing in. Best time was at 22 psi. Comparing my tune to your video results, my A10 shifts like the Lund tune when out of the throttle, very smooth, but turns into Mr. Hyde when you mash the throttle and rocks the car when it shifts like your PBD tune does. If I were closer, I'd offer to do a 3 way comparison of tuners, because I know mine compares in all performance aspects, and beats both Lund and PBD on price.

      After watching the video, your car has a much more aggressive shift schedule in track mode, which reminds me of my Turbo 400 with shift kit, I'm not saying that's bad. The Lunds transmission schedule has been dialed in and more refined between shifts, they have done there research and development, I'm not stating PBD does not do that but, from the video, that's what I've noticed. Your car is set to kill mode.

      Me too! The Lund tune just sounds Right in ALL the Right Places! Smooth shifts means less stress, and Right at the end of the power curve! Staying in the throttle for a little more HP isn't what gets you down the track fastest. TORQUE gets you down the track fastest. If I were to bet on which car would win, all other things being the same, I'd put my money on the Lund. Your buddy will have to lose a few pounds before All other things could be the same. Zander could leave his back seat in to equalize the weight, and help his rear-end HOOK. While you're friend can take his back seats out, even though he'll lose a little of the weight transfer effect. Then, All things might be considered the same. I suggest weighing each of your cars at the CAT Scale with each driver standing on the platform. Compare your weights, and make necessary adjustments to make All other things be the same. Then Race Em, and may the best tune WIN!

    • @whitehorse1
      @whitehorse1 Před 5 lety

      If after your buddy takes out his back seats he finds himself a little lighter than you, he can add a couple of bags of rocks strategically placed in the trunk just in front of the taillights to improve his weight transfer. Remember that Cat Scales are accurate, but they can only be accurate to within 20 pound increments.

      BlueCollarDaily the 17 raptor was horrible shifting up an down. Sometimes on the downshifts the ass end would lock up an slid. The 18 raptor is great in Baja mode it’s very firm an crisp shifts but in eco bitch mode it’s smooth an nice. My wife hates when I drive it I always use sport mode an it’s fun. But the 17 even in eco mode it was always looking for gears an shifting really hard. I believe the 17 had a recall an they were suppose to fix the valve body’s. But we didn’t own the 17 long enough for the recall to activate. But my 18 GT before the trans burned up the second gear hit was so hard in drag mode would knock my cameras off the windows when I had drag radials on it. After they rebuilt the trans I didn’t even get to drive it to see if the rebuild made any differences. I wonder now if the new valve body would of helped that 1-2 shift hit.
