- This compact portable rocket stove is probably my favorite tig welding project so far. Building it into the ammo can allows it to pack up nicely, gives it a built in handle, and cooks great!

#rocketstove - Jak na to + styl
When the yolk broke, so did I.
Me too 😔
The rocket stove produces too much heat for frying a single egg.
...eggzactly.....
Use less wood for control heat.
Ruined it.
Congratulations, you're officially the best welder I've seen on youtube 👍
Those welds look so good i'd date them
Hes definitively a very good faber
Is it just me or does he seem like probably the most genuine nice dude you’d ever meet? 😂 love the videos man, keep ‘em coming!
Hey thanks man, kind of you to say.
Yeah, definite honest-guy vibes! :-)
Great job! Such a cool compact heat source and cook stove. This would be perfect for most of my off-road truck camping needs. Thanks! 👍
Should make the pan holder prongs removable, and have the end of the pipe capable of fitting a flu pipe, so that way, if you need to heat a tent, or something else you can :)
That's a great idea!
Yes...
Ammo box is insulated, makes it less effective for heating the surroundings. Idea of multipurpose is good though.
Stack robber heat extractor.
Not even gonna lie - I was judging at first.
Now I need to get me one of those. That's pretty legit. I really feel like that actually reduces the amount of fuel required to cook.
Love this take on a Ammo can rocket stove. I’m a little obsessed with them myself and have built a few so of course I watched this beginning to end. Great job as always Justin.
Thanks! Am pretty happy with how it turned out.
That is an awesome project. I like how you show your mistakes and just fix them. Other channels don't do that and make it look like a perfect job from start to finish. Great work.
You Sir, are a rare breed. An American that converts measurements to Metric. Great video!
Thanks 👍
LOVE the build and have no complaints at all (ignore the fact I'm not a welder)! And I'm very thankful that you are providing the patterns for your subscribers! The only concern I had was with the lid still attached when in use. With that heat near the rubber seal and the opportunity of being a trip hazard. Again awesome job and a great stove especially if in an open fire ban area.
I was going to make a comment about legs and getting it up off the ground, but you covered that in an earlier response about the insulation.
Good job.
Man! You're like picasso on the welds. Beautiful welds out there, clean and consistent.
That’s a pretty sweet work there Mr. Voss!! I was actually looking for tutorial on a hot tent stove from an ammo box, but this was very well worth the time to watch. Thank you very kindly. Your videos sure have a good feel to them, like hanging out in the shop working on a project with the buddy.
Hello Justin, great and clean work in this video. One of the best welder I saw so far!
As a brit I just wanna shout out my appreciation for MM dimensions. You the man 👊
No problem I got you!
Hey man, thank you for that amazing video, I enjoyed it so much watching you work on it, your skills are amazing! And a special thanks for the metric measurements.
I like that you insulated it. Nice!
Nice shop! I like the precision and craftsmanship of your work.
That's the best rocket stove I've ever seen . And it's the best invention yet all because you didn't tamper with the lid . Two thumbs up for you , outstanding .
Excellent build! Awesome craftsmanship! Respect💪🏼
I loved the entire video, except the thought of you eating that egg without using salt and pepper! LOL awesome build, I could see that getting lots of use.
I put that on after! And then ate it with my fingers haha
Awesome Build. love the simple and elegant design.
Dude. First video of yours I've seen. I also am a welder/fabricator by trade and day job but you are literally one of the best I've seen!! Loved this build!!! New subscriber!!!! Looking forward to all your videos!!!
You make it look so easy! Very cool design and execution
Justin, that s one of the cleanest stove builds I have seen. excellent job Mate!!
Just stumbled upon this video and I've gotta say that the level of craftsmanship you put into this project is absolutely unbelievable (and almost to the point of being comical)
That is crazy!!! I would buy that in a heart beat
Great to see Your video again ! I never get tired of em ! Isee You learned the secret ( to non stick stainless steel pan ) too . Looks like another job well done !!
Awesome project. nice and compact. Perfect idea for a portable rocket stove...Nice job!!!
Excellent workmanship. Impressive!
This is awesome. Thank you!
Thank you
Absolutely epic. One of the nicest weld projects I`ve seen. Awesome vid, thanks for posting. Pete
Hey thanks Pete!
@@JustVoss It`s a great idea, designed and executed skilfully and, presented in a pleasing, clear way. It`s inspiring and, what CZcams was designed for. Well done. Keep `em coming please! : )
And now I gotta make one. Deff one of the best looking diy rocket stoves for sure man she looks great!
The manliest part of this project wasnt the 50 cal ammo box, or the welding, or the rocket stove. It was cooking an egg in a stainless steel pan. Absolute chad move.
hahaha
That’s an awesome idea and build, looks sweet
Subscribed! I would take this on my mountain bike to our weekly #coffeeoutside gatherings in the Prescott National Forest. Cant wait to learn more about fabricating.
Great idea and those welds are just beatuiful!
Very nice and functional not to mention just plain cool great job 👍
Beautiful neat welds. Nice work
You are very creative and very skillful. Thanks for sharing!
Nice beading with the TIG welder. Thanks for the video.
Dryer lint can by a nice trick to start it up. Thanks for this. Real invention that need a price tag. Brian K.
What a great build, loved it !
Very nice. I am trying to learn welding and I hope some day I will be as good as you are. You are the boss on the welding community. 👍🏾👍🏾
Awesome video. Oddly enough I have been working on an Ammo Box stove for a friend of mine, so this video couldn't have come out at a better time.
Nice! Let me know how it turns out!
I'm a welder and this is being build today. I purchased a bunch of ammo cans to put in my bed rack on my overland.. this will 100% be part of my ammo can truck gear. I currently keep tire chains and strap and all that in them. This will be a perfect addition to the truck
Just found your channel and I’m loving it so far!
Your welding in textbook excellent and the project is really a work of art too. KUDOS.
What a dope design!
Really cool. Great job.
That's some Great Welding Bro Good Craftsmanship 😎👍🇺🇸💯
Damn, nice welds! Nice job all the way around.
Nice, I think I'll have to make one of these to go in the back of my van for emergency tea breaks! Thanks for the inspiration!
Hey sounds like a pretty good use!
Very pretty welds. They make me all happy as someone who likes that kinda thing.
00:00:38 "It is a ... tight little package" - I LOL'd. Just me? Oh.
Great vid! Thanks for sharing.
My favorite rocket stove!! The best I’ve seen in years wowow
Solid work.
There's something so satisfying about making pretty welds. Nice work. I'd like to say I'll make one, but I don't have a decent welder so, I'd buy one!
Awesome setup.
Just the start of the video had me subbed 😂 it looks like it's gonna be a really interesting vid and you have a good/pleasant CZcams personality/voice
Very interesting build, you did a great job.
Love to have one of those! Awesome job!
Its cool for sure ! I have been making different rocket stove for more than a decade and this version i feel ticks enough boxes. I would like to see a similar design but only using the ammo can to store the rocket stove that way it could be modular and bigger with higher chimney stack if needed. Nice work there bro.
That defeats the purpose of the can. Anything can be used to store the components if that's the case...Even something much lighter than an ammo can.
Your skills are unsurpassed brother!
This build is dope I can’t wait to build it myself
Nice work , good welding and fab skill sets ... !!!
Thanks!
Hi Justin. Have never welded a thing in my life but always enjoy your videos. Thanks for the great content.
That’s great to hear! I do plan on branching out in the future and do more projects that aren’t only focused on welding.
Never too late to start
Been doing machining, welding and engineering my whole career. This video made me subscribe. Don't have the tools? Just do it 'til it's done.
Thanks for sticking around! Will be great to have your experience around.
@@JustVoss keep up the great videos. I have been interested in finding the most efficient design of portable rocket stove. Interested in discussing?
Really nice build.
Very good fab approach and skills. Enjoyed it. Subbed.
Dam! This is sweet. Ur channel popped up and I'm glade i watched. You took a good idea and made it better and more compact, within it's own carry case. Awesome ! Nicely done👍
Thank you and glad you liked the project
Sweet! Inspired!!!
Phenomenal build. New subscriber here. I look forward to more of your projects. Great production too btw.
Thanks!
My man you are awsome i want to see your mad max inventions keepem comming
That is really cool great idea👍👍👍👍👍
That super and great I can't wait to see your next video to show how it works , and don't forget to remind your friends to remove the lid
Wonderful job very enjoyable.
Liked your first rocket stove. Just love this one. You do good work. You should produce these stoves commercially. I would certainly buy one.
The most beautiful rocket stove i have ever seen my respect to you and now i have a new project to think about greetings from Belgium Oli
This is sick
Cool project.
Very nice job well done
Nice job man.................Thanks.
neat set up
I've been using the scotch roloc's for awhile from empire and they're great. I got them in 2", 3" And 4.5" for the angle grinder. Also they have a mirror kit, it's a polishing kit to make metal polish like well a mirror!
Awesome job WOW 👍
That’s cool bro
That mini belt sander is awesome! Man I want one of these stoves
Nice welding good job turning nouthing into great stove
What people usually do with these is just cut out a small square in the end of the box, put some hinges on the cut out piece and where you cut it off, and now you have a door that you can adjust air intake. Then you cut out a hole in the rear top for the smoke to go out, and boom you have a portable stove.
I spilt my coffee all over my laptop when he said millimeters. Thought he was Canadian but alas not.
Was a pleasure to watch
I was wondering why your welds came out THIS colorful until i saw that you used stainless filler. Nice
That and the monster cup with a gas lense. Gas coverage is key
awesome skills...so jealous of your shop and tools
instead of welding it to the sides that will transfer some heat. you could have used refractory cement and just weld some of that stampedmetal to the side of the burner and to the sides of the can. That way the cement have something to grip and hold on to but you dont have the burner and can directly connected and you wouldent have that heat transfer. I will be heavier tho but thats a trade off.
Btw thank you from the rest of the world that dont use imperial. Thats really nice of you to give us the metric measurements, dont see many people on youtube do that.
Pretty cool little stove 👍
wow you are skilled, nice work
Man great video. Would love to have a workshop like you and be able to weld like you. Nice moves. Happy New year from the UK 🇬🇧
Motters 73's
i love this proyect
Watching you weld was satisfying
