Yea the older ones even 2017 reprints are harder to compare but the 25th anniversary reprints are very easy to see a difference but none the less still awesome
Fuuuuck man my late friend used to get his rich uncle to buy him and us boxes of Yugioh cards back in the early 2000s. I'll never forget when he pulled secret Tri Horned Dragon from his box and that became his favorite card. RIP Derek.

I prefer the newer look because they're more crisp, but I think they should've done the old look for this, especially considering some of the texts aren't even updated to have PSCT.
I don’t care about the differences.
The new cards look fine to me.
Products that come out in different years separated by decades are not going to look the same, they just aren’t.

@@fair6646 I’d say the massive pale text box for me doesn’t sit as nicely. I understand it’s to fit more text. The overall colour of the card was a lot nicer for all types. The gold text looks a lot more refined before. They just feel right
the holo in general looks so much better not just the old text/font/layout, the old print is honestly just superior in every way, the art isnt stretched out jumping out at you and the holo isnt so in your face its so much more subtle and compliments it alot better, new cards you cant tell which is the more dominate factor the art or the foiling and foiling should never be the dominant factor imo but a compliment that makes the already great art that much better
Idk, I pulled a new Chaos Emperor Dragon and gotta say, it looks amazing in just about every way. No complaints from me and I started playing in MRD
Don’t cards have a code on them to signify what series they came from?
I pulled that card too lol, I just didn’t record the opening for a short, I just have some of other booster packs
I think the “new” cards quality is very low, I really do not like it…

Old ones dont have the attribute holo is the giveaway if you cant tell the dofferences in shading or how it shines differently

I believe that oldest one was 1996 by and now I know that it's because I got a whole entire set of the 1996 Yu-Gi-Oh cards I got some legendary once you got some Christmas edition ones for my sad I haven't got some playing cards that I play with but for all in our sleeves in their cases

The new colors, layout and everything else that was changed are so ugly.
I am not gonna buy this product because they used the new layout. Legendary Collection Boosters (LOB, MRD, SRL, PSV, DCR, IOC) never used it until now...

The old school cards are miles better looking, the colour, the smaller pictures. They’re just perfect, why they changed them I’ll never know. Also the reprints imo should look exactly like the originals otherwise what’s the point.

The OG print run has a richer manila color to it, makes it look nicer.
I can't stand having cards with different tones in my decks, need them all to match, structure decks cards tend to be very light in color lately
No no no they are def not all almost the same. Look at the detail on the color of the card and the seal on the Leg to the far left compared to the right 25th anniversary. Cards looking more and more cheap every year

It's not Konamis fault. They had to due to the copyright. They don't decide what to print.
Why? The old layout has so much empty space which the new layout can use for art
Huge disagree. The bigger card art and new color and foiling style is way better imo
@@KaitlynFedrick personally I think old layout is well designed, ratio of text box and the art work part is so good, almost like golden ratio. New layout has some good feature such as slightly bigger text box and art work, star foils, but the harmony of those makes the card itself look cheap. This analogy might sound so weird but, new layout is like to me, meeting an old best friend and it turns out that friend is no longer he/she use to be...
Genuine question : how do you differentiate if it's 25 Anniversary or from 2017 for example?

@@Vrypor or they wanted the nostalgia that comes with the old layout ? 😭 not everything is about reselling but this product holding no nostalgia at all. These to myself and others, arent the old sets whatsoever, they're speed duel cards.
@@Vrypor thats absolutely fine if this is good enough for you but some of us nostalgics just dont think this shapes up in any way to how they should look :) id understand taking all theses sets and putting them together for an anniversary reprint pack, but to me reprinting these as their old original sets ?? absolutely not
