this is proof that good lighting can do wonders. I bet they got away with a bunch of stuff just because they spent the time to make good lighting instead of just cranking polygons on every asset.

I think the story is fine. Your character clearly has a life and cooler friends and while Amy is like “I’m hearing voices and I want to check under the hood-umm of your car, I mean, of course, haha 😅” you’re clearly getting the number of the diner waitress and finding an AA meeting and getting in touch with the local coven/assassin cell.

This game was ahead of it's time, the graphics, the sound design, the city, the vibes... still unmatched, sadly it was killed by the terrible handling, I have fond memories of it, having your car parked, listening to rain and hearing the echo of tires screeching and loud exhausts of other players racing somewhere on the other side of the city was great, this game is such a mood

It was a good game. I always remember weird handling and terrible cops. With the recent update, Unbound is fun to play and it's easier to earn money.

On PC the game is perfection, also a drift physics mod exists

We need this back BECAUSE there is no off roading! It's supposed to be a game about street racing. Being able to drive off road slamming through trees and bushes like they're paper in slammed JDMs and whatnot is stupid. That's a huge part of why 2015 was so immersive and realistic. That and not jumping your car off ridiculous ramps randomly placed all around the map. 🙄 I hate ramps in racing games.

NFS 2015 is a underrated game although I hate how the cops didn’t try. The game looks more realistic than most of the NFS games that came out before and afterwards. Definitely one of the best looking ones I’ve seen

This was an interesting time because we were transitioning into a new era and developers were working hard to define the new standard what graphics will look like moving forward. It’s more interesting now seeing how it wasn’t a sustainable standard for many reasons and you actually see a decline in graphics now compared to this time period in many games. Think about the best graphics in games. This game. Battlefront 2, rdr2 is what comes to my mind. All only about 3 years apart And pretty old at this point.

Haven't had a rise from any NFS since this one. Payback and Heat were meh at best, and since I deeply despise the cartoon effects in the last iteration, I'll be going backward instead of forward. Overdue for a complete run of MW2005 anyway.

@@Kev27RS I played it on ps4 once I came out then switched it to pc , there is literally no difference whether a mod or RTX was needed or not, the graphics were phenomenal and developers did amazing work on this, I think that was their point when making this game
I still play this game today when I just wanna drive and race gta cars are cool but this game is a gem always makes me feel like a real jdm guy and the fact that it’s raining the entire game also just makes me feel so comfortable because I love rain so much it’s like therapeutic to hear and see the rain hit the cars and the engine revs

Don't wanna undermine NFS '15's achievements, as the game looks pretty stunning, but it looks as good as it does due to the lack of day/night cycle. Having a fully dynamic lighting system that reacts according to daylight cycles is harder to get to look right in every lighting condition, as opposed to a relatively static system that reacts only to a few light sources in close proximity.
Lot easier to account for things in a more controlled environment.

My only gripe with this game was that it was always night time and always raining. Like I get that rainy nights are good for a graphics showcase but for a whole game to be centered around that ONE novelty really made me want just a little more out of this nfs.

Honestly even when its not raining this 8 year old game still looks better graphically than some of the newer NFS games. Heat looks nice but the filters are too much sometimes. Unbound is basically heat with the filters dialed down. NFS 2015 has filters but they aren’t too crazy, actually make the game look good, and graphically and aesthetically its better overall. From the roads to the car models to the weather and lighting. There are some things it doesnt do too well like plants or physics. But damn can it compete with today’s NFS and dare i say racing games. Graphically and aesthetically I mean. Physics are still ridiculously wonky in newer games but they are definitely improved. The drifting in NFS 2015 i will say is a lot better. You can definitely feel it with Ken’s Hoonicorn V2. That ‘65 ‘stang was MEANT to stay sideways.

At the cost of being unplayable because they just couldnt hold back the urge to make the game perma online FOLLOWED UP with the fact that they made it directly impact the loading speed of the map! And even better!: The parts of the map that were loaded in like 5 minutes ago? because you went past them? They dont save! So you WILL fall out of the map into the void, just like I did! (unless you have gazillion dollar internet)

a lot of people crap on the handling, I'm going to post some content on this game to show how cool it is once you learn how to drift (yes i have crashed many times, and yes the ai intentionally crash you out, it leads you to reset and try again) I do have an older group of NFS 2015 vids, but they were back when i didn't know how to organize vids and playlist, I have updated the playlist, but i didn't do much tuning to my cars back then, so I recently reset my game and am already almost finished with prestige mode. have fun racing guys :D
