      Please can you tell me if Crows Nest is a real house as it looks a really lovely place as my family came from Doncaster and Ikley moors my Nannar was a maid so that’s why l like the programme so much and my Grandad worked down the Pit , it it’s a very entertaining programme Gentleman Jack , and the period drama too .

    • @PlusParksandAttractions
      @PlusParksandAttractions  Před 2 lety

      @@traceysutton237 Crow Nest belonged to the Walker family, however Ann Walker lived at nearby Lydgate during Anne Lister's courtship, Sally Wainwright used artistic license and put her at Crow Nest to demonstrate her wealth in Gentleman Jack. Sutton Park near York was used as a filming location for Crow Nest

      @@PlusParksandAttractions lovely video tour thank you so much. In one episode of the program anne lister brings anne Walker to a cottage in the woods - it is implied that lister built the cottage for walker. Is this true and if so is the cottage open as well?
      I would love to see Halifax and the hotel lister built there.

      @@ginaschissler9887 I think she build a hut but not a house. Ann Walker’s real-life dwelling no longer exists, so an estate in York called Sutton Park served as her on-screen abode

    I check the flight information from Puerto Rico to Halifax , England is 13 hours.
    England is on my vacation list as well as Spain and Italy.
    God willing I'll be there.

      Ah, that's quite a flight, but it's an interesting place and the gardens (and adjoining park) is pretty in summer. The park attached to it has loads of space for kids to run wild, a cute little boating lake, miniature railway and some nice walks. If you do come to Yorkshire, I hope you have a wonderful time, there's loads to see and do.

    Anne Lister’s father was injured in the Battle of Lexington ,April 19th 1775 in the American War of Independence from Britain, not the American Civil war in which the North fought against the South.

      Thanks for watching the video and commenting. A lot of the buildings of that era had the exposed wooden beams painted black. There are quite a few houses/buildings still standing in the UK that look similar.
