❤️❤️
Uniquely Sean. Great effort to keep track & follow up with plants growth.
As much as I love your garden tours, I really enjoy watching your plant care vids.
Thank youu. Im trying to balance the two.
I’m quite bad at caring for anthurium and thanks to this video, I learned a lot. Hope I’ll succeed in making them thrive, they are so beautiful.
Thank you. We get better with time ❤️😀
This video got me wishing for a plant care video of you working on your plants with some chill background music (talking optional lol)
Interesting idea. Hehe
I so appreciate your videos Sean. I have learned so much from you. I used to be unsuccessful at caring for my plants and ever since I subscribed and started watching, I have become a better plant parent. Thank you so much
This comment really empowers me to do more. Thank you ❤️
Great job on breaking down such a complex topic into understandable parts.
This is very encouraging, thank you for writing in
4:44 Probably the best explanation I’ve heard for troubleshooting plants based on their leaves, thank you!! 👌🏻
❤️❤️ you’re welcome
Your home is my idea of heaven! ❤
Whoaaa thank you 🫣 you made me blush
Very helpful and creative . By far, my most favorite video on anthurium care.
Whoaaa thank you
You make growing anthuriums look 👀 so very easy…..
I did struggle with them at first 🫣 definitely harder than philos and monsteras
I don't have the humidity here in my house so I don't have any of the plants. Very informative info about anyone wanting wanting to start a anthurium hobby collection!
Some anthuriums can take low humidity. The clarinervium is one to look into 😀
Haha the neem oil smell description. I never could place it but you are spot on.
🙈🙈
I put leftover iron bars, leftover from a baby cake over top of my aquariums and set the pots on top Antherium love it there they get a gentle humidity. I do not fix them in anyway so that roots go in the water. Just set the pot on top of the bars.
Cool!! I can imagine them being happy perched on top like that
Thank you so much. I have learned such a lot from this one video. I am in the sub-tropics in Queensland Australia and have realised my potting mix needs to be a lot chunker. Cheers
❤️❤️ cheers
My favorite plant channel ❤
Love watching your plant care tips. By the way it's never a lengthy video for me. It's all information. Love your channel. Hugs from Malaysia 🌿💚
Thank youu ❤️
Thanks for the video Sean! As someone who lives in Texas and has low indoor humidity, I'm not sure I can ever get the more difficult anthuriums, but I'm hoping to get a clarinervium and/or a pedatoradiatum for my first anthuriums! They've recently started hitting the independent plant nurseries here so they're becoming more common.
Nice. They thrive with higher humidity but they can live and grow decent in lower humidity. Try some of the hacks to increase humidity a little.
Sean, woooooowa, thanks for sharing trouble shooting ...good to know going forward heading off these issues ... love the time lapse on results!😊enjoy your day!
Thank you. Have a nice day too
Thank you for the info! I haven’t hopped on the anthurium train yet. I do have the basic flamingo flower, but I am too committed to my alocasia collection, philos and pothos collection, and then the rest of my plants to start a new collection 😅 but gosh I love seeing the updates. You’re a great plant dad!
Thank you ❤️ just filmed a lot of beautiful alocasias in Bangkok. They very very trending
Great video Sean! I really like the 3 month update right after the initial care/repotting! 😁❤
Thank you ❤️❤️
Thank you, Sean! I learned a lot from this video! Also love your tours around South East Asia; assuredly, the epicenter of exotic plants and their new hybrids. Your videos are so exciting for plant enthusiasts!
Thanks John😀
Just in time! Hi from India. Currently we are having a heatwave and the humidity is around 80%
My bakeri was rotting. Now I'm off saving her. And yes, neem oil is the OG
Oh nooo. They really hate the heat. And I understand India is going through record breaking heatwaves! 🥵 I hope things get better soon
Really great format! You are right, seeing the update after treatment made the information resonate better. Great content as usual. Looking fwd to your next!
Thank you ❤️❤️
I love your garden
Thank you ❤️
What a beautiful Anthurium...💚💚💚.
Thank you...Mr OnlyPlant.
Happy weekend.
Thank you ❤️❤️ happy Sunday
So great new lesson about Anthurium care: you are the best Master for plant care!!! ❤❤and your anthuriums are so beautiful!!!
Thank you Cathie ❤️
Excellent video, it is good that you show the results of the transplants, so one cannot doubt that it actually works, your advice will be very useful to me, greetings.
Thank you. Its so satisfying to see the fruits of our labor side by side
oooh i have been looking for an anthurium guide from you! thank you so much for uploading this one!
❤️❤️❤️
Your plant care tips are just the best! :)
Whoaa thank you ❤️
I am in tropical Caribbean agree the light undeect I grow minds in a tree trunk an in coconut husk
Yes, that is a Bessae aff….
It’s interesting because if I let my anthurium go bone dry they’d all be dead. The exceptions are my anthurium from Mexico like my Clarinervium. I am an under waterer so I have to keep mine in no drainage or self-watering pots to keep them happy.
Oooh it could be humidity, when in low humidity, dont let it go to critical dryness. Maintaining a bit of moisture
Best timing to get an anthurium video as I've got my first anthurium last week 😆 In this age where short videos and reels are so popular, I really admire your passion for making long videos that cover all the details needed to care for a particular plant. I truly enjoy watching your videos and fully support you!
Whoaa this is very encouraging. Thank you ❤️
Hi Sean, I didn’t realize you had so many anthuriums 😀🇨🇦
The healthy ones were not shown in this video actually… so theres a fair bit more of them 🥹
Much appreciated video. You make it simple, in fact, almost making me feel silly buying all those "premium mix" media...am going with your formula/recipe and see in "3 months" the results! Thanks once again for this video.
❤️❤️ you’re welcome
Very satisfying and informative plantcare, thank you.
You’re welcome ❤️
thanks for sharing! support from Taiwan!
❤️❤️ thank you
Thank you for another wonderful video, I learned so much ❤ I got 5 anthuriums and will repot 2 of them soon.
😀❤️
Thank you. My Dragon scale is getting really tall, and I wasn't sure if I could chop it and propagate the top. I have it in leca with spag. moss on top and a support post to keep it upright. The leaves are downsizing. I bath it weekly with neem oil to control the spider mites. I live in Idaho, and the house is usually about 40-45% humidity.
Yes you can propagate the top, and alocasias can give you corms in the media which you can propagate also!
Yet another informative and entertaining video! Thank you so much.
You’re most welcome ❤️❤️
Fantastic as always Sean, thank you!
Thank you ❤️
Thank for this tutorial, Seam!
You’re most welcome ❤️
Love your videos, thank you for sharing your knowledge and i appreciate the updates... It's a lot of work! You are the best ❤
Thank you ❤️❤️
Great video, I love anthurium and wondered how they were propagated.
They are actually fairly easy to propagate. I have a few species specific videos in the channel on how to propagate different anthuriums.
Thank you for the information.
Beautiful plants thank you
❤️❤️
Great work Sean you’re a good plant parent you really care and love plants..❤
Thank you ❤️❤️
Thanks for all your work on these videos, Sean. I feel so spoiled now when I watch other channels and they say "I'll give you an update LATER" 😂 and I am like, 🧐, Sean always updates in the same vid. You go above and beyond! Question: Does anyone know where all that media goes in the pots when the roots take over the whole pot!??! I always wonder this mystery! : O The plant somehow "eats" the media, it seems.
Yes the anthuriums were in aroid media before… I bet they crush them up and squeeze them out of the holes, or maybe they downright eats them up!!!
@@onlyplants 🤣
I’m really just getting into anthurium Sean, thanks for this. 😊
You’re most welcome Mikey
Once again love your videos
Thank you ❤️
Sean, think of doing a video talking about principal diseases, has been very revealing how talk about the signs of overwatering and underwatering, and some signs are very difficult to unserstand, hugs from Italy :)
Thank you, I will look into it. Got quite a bit of learning to do myself
Thanks I learned a lot.
You’re welcome
Another GREAT and informative video😊
Thank you 🥰❤️
The way you mix soil, ammendments, fungicide etc is like Asians cooking! Just a dash here and there. We call it 'agaration' in Singlish 😂
Thk you 4 sharing your beautiful plants and knowledge of them 💚
Greetings from Transylvania 🌄
❤️❤️ thank youu
Thank you sharing
😀😀
Always enjoy these sort of videos, I learn so much. Was it water drops on the leaf or an insect sprang off 😅 I have an andreanum suffering...I placed it in my greenhouse once and it got really bad sunburn, it has been trying to recover since beginning this year. At least it is surviving!
Could be water drop but I cant think of the source of that water lol.
Thanks for sharing Sean......
Amazing 👍👍
Thank you ❤️❤️
Wow, I have my anthuriums in pon and self-watering, and they seem to do well in that medium. Yeah they do grow fast though lol, faster than my hoyas that’s for sure :P
Interesting, PON also goes well with alocasias.
Perfect video! My goal is to learn how to take care of anthurium this year!
Niceee!
Thankyou
❤️❤️
When I get an anthurium I will know how to care for it 😁
Give them a try haha. They are quite charming really
Neem oil smells like an onion just farted. 😂😂😂😂
🙈🙈🙈
Wow nice video
Thank you ❤️❤️
Thank you 💕🌟 for the info.👍👍👀
❤️❤️
I needed this video! My Antherium are sad so sad rn. 😢
Whoaaaa they really respond well to adjustments, even minor ones. Try to rescue them if you have the time and means 😀 its actually very rewarding
Great video! Your neglect has become a forum for Anthurium care and restoration. The after photos are excellent. One question: how do you tell the difference between a bacterial, viral or fungal problem on the foliage? Are there products that deal with more than one disease at a time? Thanks!
I dont know the difference to be honest. Theres not that much succinct information online but maybe Ill come across an expert who can share on the channel.
Seneng banget tuh anthurium tepat di rawat oleh si tangan dingin yg begitu peduli ❤
❤️❤️
I use neem extract and a neem oil solution - made as natural as possible.
❤️❤️
Thanks, I got so much from this video! What do you feed your anthuriums?
Terima kasih sudah berbagi ilmunya 👍👍👍👍👍😁
❤️❤️ sama2
Do anthuriums usually struggle if humidity falls below 60% during times of the day? My draconopterum really struggled during shipment and lost its leaves. Not sure if its adaptability issue or shipping stress. Would love to see videos of how to adapt plants or care for plants after shipping :)
Draconopterum is one that loves high humidity and have high death rate during shipping. They don’t adapt well to new environments
😂onion has just farted...hello Sean!
🥵
@onlyplants I was re- watching your monstera vlog...and i missed those impromptu "Gia...cut it out!" In a good endearing way .😁
So what made the leaf behind you move? 😮 love this video BTW!
🫣 I dont really know lol. Maybe that leaf wanted to be famous🤩
❤❤❤
❤️❤️😀

Hi Sean, do you use back the old potting mix when you repot the plants?
If the potting mix looks clean and the previous plant is not diseased/rotted. 100% yes.
Thanks, I always learn heaps
You don't cut off the damaged / sick leaves , I cut them off ? Am I doing the wrong thing ?
I only cut sick or damaged leaves if more than 50% of the surface is damaged. The plant invest so much energy to put out this leaf, its photosynthesis output is still helping the plant along even with minor damage/illness. The key is to stop the illness spreading.
Thanks for the tip! Would you cut off the infected leaf?
Only if its severely damaged (maybe over 50% of the surface)
As always love your video, Sean. I notice that new leaves for Anthurium can emerge from an old leave, younger plants or off-shoot from somewhere else when it gets older. Is this something unique for Anthurium?
Nearly all plants do it, especially when they become mature (some do it more than others) but anthuriums do mature very quickly. They can go from seed to flower in 2-3 years
@@onlyplants thanks!
спасибо из России, хорошее видео
Thank you ❤️
L❤ve it
Thank youu
Hi Sean. Do you know anything about the business Succulentasia? I ordered plants plants from them two months ago and have not received them (I’m in Washington DC). They are not very communicative and often don’t return emails. So frustrating!
Ive not heard of this business no…
BTW, love your channel!
My anthurium magnificum hasn't put a new leaf for months now. I don't know what is happening to it. My temperature is around 28°C and humidity around 50%. The roots seem fine too :(
I would rule out pest next, and introduce a bit of nutrients only if you havent fertilized it in a while. They dont need a ton of light but see if it might be too low of a light
@@onlyplants literally no pests, and light, they are outside under a 75% shade net, getting over 1000 foot candles of light :/
Anturium lima jari,, diindonesia bnyk kk,, daunya lebih besar lg
Iya betul. Your point is?
So Anthurium like you said don't require high humidity for most species in cultivation (debile and splendidum are some of the exceptions). So as long as you have at least 50% humidity you will have little to no issue with them... however I have seen enough ppl on social media and privately that grow Anthurium in 30% humidity with great success... the important thing is to know your environment and to never let the Substrat become bone dry... so I disagree a bit with that advice, bc while some mexican species like chiapasense, Leuconeurum or clarinervium can handle a wet/ dry cycle, most velvet leaf Anthurium will show their discontent with you if the substrate gets anywhere close to bone dry... Glossy leaf Anthurium can also handle a drying out period, but they also do not appreciate having their substrate bone dry.... considering you have to many plants to manage on your own, I'd suggest you plant them in large pots with orchid substrate, so you can overwater to your heart's content 😊
And for anyone trying to keep Anthurium in super high humidity - Airflow is your best friend... a good fan will be the most important thing in a high humidity environment to prevent any fungal/ bacterial infections...
And since Anthurium produce a lot of roots fast, if you are someone who wants big leaves fast, give your Anthurium a pot 2 to 3 sizes larger than you usually would and just be more mindful of your watering... Anthurium grow larger much faster if you aren't constantly repotting and disturbing it's roots 😊
Sean, I don't know if you meant to say "Neam Oil is good for the skin" but guys, be careful, bc neam oil can irritate the skin and cause an allergic reaction so always handle chemicals (doesn't matter if it's natural or not) with the oroper safety gear 😅
Thank you for showing us all of your beautiful plants!!
Thanks for sharing this. And yes should clarify that neem oil is safe when diluted properly and not in its full concentration, just like essential oils 😀 but they are used in soaps and shampoos for tons of benefits
And yes to your point, actually watering depends on humidity etc too. In low or critically low humidity environments I would not consider letting the media go bone dry. And the species require slightly different requirements as they can be diverse
Very helpful comment! I was confused by the "bone dry" comment cause if I let mine dry out a bit in my 50% humidity then I get immediate leaf damage 😂
At 21:00 mn, I've notice that you don't untangle the root bun. This is really not recommended. I hope it's gonna be all right. 🙃
Ooh you dont have to untangle them. But actually its a good idea to massage it lightly so the ends of the roots are a bit more free to explore the new pot. 😀😀
My houseplants need tlc😢
Mine too, I waited too long to rescue them 🥹
I'll work for cheep if you give me room and board
🙈🙈
Hey, sorry för my Bad english...Hey dont do you put your plants in mineral substrat. Most of german plant guy put the plant in mineral substrat. It ist better for watering . We have self watering potts. It's Mode better by your many plants. Getting from Germany.
I understand the name of the set up is called Pon… i have not tried that method but I have noticed growers successful with it.
❤️❤️
Wow!!! That gracile 🤌🏻 is that the 1 that from me?? It's huge now
Haha yes thats from you. They have so many seedlings!!
@@onlyplants nice! They have a lot of babies now 😚 good luck with your anthuriums Sean 🙌🏻
