I would call my laywer and sue them the moment she brought up personal stuff. A legitime business doesnt bring up personal stuff with clients...
Especially when the client has a problem, you don't just push aside the problem and their complaints and bring up personal shit, plus volunteering is optional, she put a personal thing over improving her business, put her client in an uncomfortable position on purpose (she could've just said she had a volunteering event and not made it some personal thing that made Byron look like some wife beater or bs like that), and refused to listen to him
I know Byron just wanted his money back, but damn I wish he had gone ahead with the lawsuit and blocked all contact with that scammer. She's probably scammed so many people already. Any judge who would have picked this case up would take a 30 second look at it and throw that bitch under the bus. She should be fined for all the shit she's pulled.

He'd be fucked if he signed a contract, not signing a contract means they can't force him to pay them if he's not satisfied with their work and he does't owe them shit, if he signed a contract he'd probably still have to pay them and wouldn't be able to get a refund

truthfully the curtain prob are that expensive. 500 dollar curtains, prob paid for an installation fee to have it custom fitted, multiply that by the multiple areas of his house its covering, kinda makes sense, but if he had chosen to just look at curtains himself, he could have easily found cheaper curtains.

Over $1000 for non-automated shades? 100% a rip-off. Get your money back, get rid of those curtains, go to your local Magnolia Design Center (make sure it’s a Design Center) and inquire about Lutron automated lighting and shades. 100% customizable and entirely automated and can be paired with your lights as well. (Lights turn on, shades go up a specific amount, can choose how much light exposure you want from the shades etc.)
