Vermeulen's first overtake was the purest definition of throwing the heart over the obstacle. Truly fearless

This was a vintage year of wsbk, and one that got me hooked for life.

Chris was a massive talent, we needed more years of him in WSBK rather than MotoGP.
His 2004 season is the most impressive ever for a rookie after the one The Ben had in 2009, I still have in my eyes the incredible comeback he had at Imola.

Chris one of the most underrated talent, he go in MotoGP with a not good bike, bad decision for me... You say the true 👍

@@Claudio14819 I remember he had races with Honda Pons and then signed for Suzuki.
While Spies had some races with Suzuki (he was the star of AMA SBK for them) and then signed for Yamaha.
Curious they both had this "double entry" in MotoGP.

@@Claudio14819 Idk it's hard to select one between the two...
Certainly Chris had an amazing rookie season, considering also the bike was totally new and the team was handled by Ten Kate who were a strong team, but still not HRC

I'm pretty sure this was the season the top three took turns falling off the bike trying to give the championship away to each other but nobody wanted it.
